If a play is good enough to start a whole new thread about, it should be good enough to put in the "official thread" (isnt that the point of this whole thing?).

And, in cases like J. Zheng, I clearly said *ADDING* and quoted the pick before the game start.

I never added anything on Verdasco here, I didn't deliberately try not to, or think it wasn't "good enough" to post, I just ultimately didn't get in here and do it.

So, win or lose irregardless, it's not part of the official plays posted in this thread.

Eh, that;s really no different than forgetting to add a play to the offiial thread, which we have all done. Should he have added the extra units here - probably if he really did raise his bet. BUT, you can't count plays made outside this thread on the official record because that would create a nightmare bookkeeping wise. That is the whole point of having a thread like this, to keep plays in one thread to make record-keeping easy.

If I felt so strongly about Nadal winning that I create a new thread announcing that Im adding 20 more units, shouldnt that supercede any other thread? Especially since I am adding units to the original bet?

I don't disagree that I should have added it in the first place, but I never got around to it, so I didn't grade the extra units since I never posted it in here.

I've had no problems posting *ADDING* in here before, but it escaped me on this bet. So why should it be counted as 'official', if it wasn't posted here?

Its a messed up situation but if you have units on someone in an "official thread" and you start a diffrent thread, saying you are adding MORE units to that players, not only are you attention whoring(by having two threads about the same thing) but you also should record it.

Right, he should have added the units here. But he didn't, and therein lies the problem.

To get more discussion on that particular game, not to transfer accounting into an entire new thread. If that was the case, there'd be no point in having official threads to keep score, you could just tally every pick across every thread and post made, which like LT said, would be a nightmare.

Like I said, I've *added* units on plays in here before, but I didn't get around to it in this official picks thread, so win, lose, draw, or cancel, it would be absolutely unethical to count the game here.

Yeah, in that thread I posted it. Again, I only want the picks I post in this thread to be tracked, as this is my season thread. I don't keep other forum records everytime I announce I'm on a play, that'd be insane to account for.
