Can any mods help with a Matchbook issue?
I offered David Ortiz at -124 before the final round. My bet went unmatched, and they closed live betting for the event. It said that live betting is no longer available for this event. I checked my account, and it showed the bet as unmatched. So I'm good....I'm heavy on Ortiz and I watch him cash. Then after the event, I go into my account and see that the bet was matched. I guess they closed betting on the event and then decided to reopen it. I called them and they said that yes, they closed it and then re-opened it. I said "WTF, how can you close an event, and then re-open it and have the unmatched bets go back up as offers?" Somebody bought Ortiz at 10:21, when he had 7 homeruns.

Can a mod help getting this bet voided?

Actually just checked the DVR, and he had 8 homeruns and 2 outs at 10:20pm.

        Albert,

Did you contact Matchbook and request that they cancel your bet? If the facts are as you describe, they should void your wager.

I called them. They said that the bet was matched before the event was taken down. Not true. The event was taken down before they threw the first pitch to Ortiz. He had 8 hr's and 2 outs at 10:20pm. They told me that the bet was matched at 10:21pm. So no, the bet was not matched before the event was taken down.

And if they want to close an event and then decide to reopen it, they can't put back unmatched bets into the pool of offers. That is ridiculous.

Fill out the complaint link Lou gave you a few posts earlier. If the facts are as you described, you have a strong case.

albert i got scrwed on a live in game betting play myself. Except in my case it was an under 8.5 -165 i thoguht the bet was cancelled

7 minutes later after 3 runs are scored and the under is +385 my bet gets matched at -165 after it was already canceled and not showing up in my unmatched betting slip.

I think the site has house players that just pound the erroneous lines even if the wager isn't big. It was only $145 but still sickening to get (angle Shot at like that)

I had ortiz as well and wanted to buy the other side. I was so pissed when they took down the odds. I had ortiz so it was cool I did see the odds come back up wow thats really not right they should have made NEW odds start. I can 100% verify that the market came down and then came back up as he was hitting. What a bunch of B.S.

This was only for $100, but I would fight for $10 on principle alone. You can't close an event and then decide to re-open it and put all unmatched offers back up as current offers.

Exactly. How can you close an event and then re-open it and resume like nothing happened. That's bullshit.

Sure there is. You cancel all bets that were voided in the first place.

Obvious error by MB. No reason to stop in-play action to begin with since the event was far from over.

Well, it's pretty obvious to see the error. If they won't void the bet, then they should reach into their own pocket and pay all the people that they ******.

there was a software glitch in the system. why else would they take down the odds before the event was over? Clearly a mistake and the put the market back up 10 minutes later but left all markets. They need to make good to you on this. in the form of credits or credit your account.

also, if you have an offer up on an event and the event closes they wont let you cancel the offer. if you go to umatched bets you will sometimes see it sitting there for a few minutes or much longer. if you click on cancel, it will say market is no longer available for betting but it wont get cancelled until someone on there end properly does something. soo this really was unavoidable.

There is no "elsewhere" for US players.

Maybe avoid live if not made right but boycotting MB is like throwing away the bathwater with the baby.

Was just reading this post about matchbook and I pretty much know exactly what you are referring to Albert. The live betting was up for the homerun derby and towards the end the betting all went off and it said the betting was closed which was weird because the homerun derby was still going. I then went out of the screen and tried to get back into the baseball portion of the site and the HR derby was there and I clicked on it and the market was back up.

I am surprised that they didn't void your bet because if the market is closed then all outstanding bets should be voided, kinda like when the site is shut down for maintenance. Unfortunately I think they will tell you that the bet may have been matched before the market was suspended and say that there is nothing that they can do about it. I've been on the wrong side of some live betting errors before and I know how you feel. Let us know if anything results from this.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, it seems like whoever was pushing the buttons at MB basically screwed up and closed it too soon. "Oops!" "Shit, we ****** up." "Quick, put the market back up." [somebody gets cuffed upside the back of the head with an open hand.] "Don't press that button until I tell you to, dummy!" The 3 Stooges are running the show at this point. The player(s) ought to receive compensation for these blunders.

actually, unless you don't like babies, the saying is "like throwing the baby away with the bathwater."

They can't day that, because they already told me it was matched at 10:21pm. That was after the market closed, and Ortiz had 8 homers and 2 outs at the time it was matched.
