Some companies spend weeks on recovering completely after a ddos attack, it depends on the type and other factors.
Some ddos attacks are easy to recover from others are very complex.

Seems like people here think ddos attacks are all the same :

COMMON DDOS ATTACKS TYPESSome of the most commonly used DDoS attack types include:

UDP FloodA UDP flood, by definition, is any DDoS attack that floods a target with User Datagram Protocol (UDP) packets. The goal of the attack is to flood random ports on a remote host. This causes the host to repeatedly check for the application listening at that port, and (when no application is found) reply with an ICMP ‘Destination Unreachable’ packet. This process saps host resources, which can ultimately lead to inaccessibility.

ICMP (Ping) FloodSimilar in principle to the UDP flood attack, an ICMP flood overwhelms the target resource with ICMP Echo Request (ping) packets, generally sending packets as fast as possible without waiting for replies. This type of attack can consume both outgoing and incoming bandwidth, since the victim’s servers will often attempt to respond with ICMP Echo Reply packets, resulting a significant overall system slowdown.

SYN FloodA SYN flood DDoS attack exploits a known weakness in the TCP connection sequence (the “three-way handshake”), wherein a SYN request to initiate a TCP connection with a host must be answered by a SYN-ACK response from that host, and then confirmed by an ACK response from the requester. In a SYN flood scenario, the requester sends multiple SYN requests, but either does not respond to the host’s SYN-ACK response, or sends the SYN requests from a spoofed IP address. Either way, the host system continues to wait for acknowledgement for each of the requests, binding resources until no new connections can be made, and ultimately resulting in denial of service.

Ping of DeathA ping of death ("POD") attack involves the attacker sending multiple malformed or malicious pings to a computer. The maximum packet length of an IP packet (including header) is 65,535 bytes. However, the Data Link Layer usually poses limits to the maximum frame size - for example 1500 bytes over an Ethernet network. In this case, a large IP packet is split across multiple IP packets (known as fragments), and the recipient host reassembles the IP fragments into the complete packet. In a Ping of Death scenario, following malicious manipulation of fragment content, the recipient ends up with an IP packet which is larger than 65,535 bytes when reassembled. This can overflow memory buffers allocated for the packet, causing denial of service for legitimate packets.

SlowlorisSlowloris is a highly-targeted attack, enabling one web server to take down another server, without affecting other services or ports on the target network. Slowloris does this by holding as many connections to the target web server open for as long as possible. It accomplishes this by creating connections to the target server, but sending only a partial request. Slowloris constantly sends more HTTP headers, but never completes a request. The targeted server keeps each of these false connections open. This eventually overflows the maximum concurrent connection pool, and leads to denial of additional connections from legitimate clients.

NTP AmplificationIn NTP amplification attacks, the perpetrator exploits publically-accessible Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers to overwhelm a targeted server with UDP traffic. The attack is defined as an amplification assault because the query-to-response ratio in such scenarios is anywhere between 1:20 and 1:200 or more. This means that any attacker that obtains a list of open NTP servers (e.g., by a using tool like Metasploit or data from the Open NTP Project) can easily generate a devastating high-bandwidth, high-volume DDoS attack.

HTTP FloodIn an HTTP flood DDoS attack, the attacker exploits seemingly-legitimate HTTP GET or POST requests to attack a web server or application. HTTP floods do not use malformed packets, spoofing or reflection techniques, and require less bandwidth than other attacks to bring down the targeted site or server. The attack is most effective when it forces the server or application to allocate the maximum resources possible in response to each single request.

Have 3.5k in there...and cannot withdraw because of a bonus nor can I login. This is not normal anymore and there HAS to be a lot more to it than a simple DDOS attack. Not even the most incompetent IT idiot manages to screw up a site so badly he can't get it working again (whilst actually trying his very best) for over 2 weeks.

Getting ready to write off the money here as I'm really starting to think they are creating some of this stuff themselves as an excuse to stall and run away.

Hope you're wrong. Have a similar situation with the bonus rollover at Betonline and it would be a big loss for my bankroll if those funds disappear. But you are on point about this situation getting super weird.

if that was the case they wouldn't be paying anyone at betonline/sportsbetting, which they have been doing

and they've been taking my bets on sportsbetting's mobile site which they also wouldn't be doing

Not really, doing some smaller payouts to maintain goodwill and offering a nice 200% reload bonus is a perfect way to milk clients for everything they have.

The 200% bonus is not much more than there normal bonuses they give out. It's only a 1 time deal and it only goes upto $1000 in freeplays just like all the other bonuses they offer. It was just something they are giving extra for the trouble it seems. Thought you should know nothing fishy about it.

Not sure about the customer thing, as it might be for all if you just put in the codes (GOTIME200) for Betonline and (200GOTIME) for Sportbetting. It also says this is how long its last until April 2nd so you don't even have to deposit now if your scared or something, you can wait to see how long they fix it.

I sure hope you all are right, but when a site takes over 2 weeks to fix a DDOS attack and starts offering juicy bonuses...it smells very fishy to me.

I woke up this morning to find a rather large wager on a Spanish soccer match I definitely did not place in my betonline account. There is a bet for $338.20 to win $182.81 on the OVER 3.5 in the Barcelona / Bilbao soccer match today. I contacted customer service, but since the match has already started I assume there will be nothing done.

I have never bet the Spanish league before, and the random amount should be about proof enough I did not place this wager. Either my account was hacked or their recent website issues are making wagers on their own. Either way, this is enough. If I could login for more than 30 seconds I would take all my money out, but I can't even do that. I have no idea what to do other than hope these two teams put up a bunch of goals.

Sounds about like my experience, except that after I tried to login for the second or third time, I started getting a "401 Authorization Required" message, at which point I couldn't view any pages. Solid work BetOnline, solid work.

Holy hell. They actually canceled the wager. But the agent was pretty clear it was all my fault, and that canceling the wager was a one-time exception to their rule. He advised me to change my password to something more secure. I told him I gladly would if I could login for more than 30 seconds. Way to go, BOL.

Fighting off DDoS attacks is not rocket science -- unless you are using 2002 technology.
How would they redirect you to a working version of the site without also redirecting DDoS traffic to the working site, thus making it not work? If they were able to discriminate between DDoS and legitimate traffic, then they wouldn't be having any issues.
