Why does there have to be more to this story. They were hit with an attack. Didnt/dont know how to handle it from a technical standpoint. And there customer service is always sub-par when there are actual ongoing issues. What else am i missing? I see no reason to believe its anything but this.

whats the truth? i dont fully trust sbr (never again after betislands) but the forums are the best source of info I have. feel free to state the truth here.....

Clearing your cookies, cache, and so on will do nothing to fix the problem. It's a DDos attack. They are using a DDos protection company and it's obviously not working. The site must be getting hammered.

Is it? What about an official statement. Where is a communication about the issues. Even SBR is quite. Really hope It's just a DDos attack.

Companies A rated like BOL should have some clue about PR and communication which is completely missing in this case.

Have you dealt with them before? This is exactly how I have felt with any issue I have ever had with them. Great book when things are going smoothly. Maybe my favorite. But any issue, no matter how simple it is to get resolved, customer service has always left a lot to be desired. Now they are having a major issue, I honestly would have been shocked if communication was clear.

Having said that they did actually put out a (partially false) statement a few days ago. Of course the (partially false) statement should have been emailed to all clients and/or posted on the homepage. But they did release something at least on this thread.

I will bet all my cash it's DDos. I have a personal experience with it. If it was a simple hosting or hardware issue these things would be fixed in hours.

It's a tough situation. What can you say from a PR angle? You don't want to give publicity to the hackers and you can't tell your customers you don't have the ability to keep the site protected. You lose all the way around. The site worked for a while yesterday and was solid. Once these hackers see the attack being killed they just activate another "wave" from somewhere else. If BOL had the ability to fix the issue it would have been done instantly - this is bad for business which is what the hackers are trying to accomplish. It will stop at some point.

They obviously have several mirror sites. There should be a few DDos protection companies involved across the different mirrors. Why they didn't do this is my question.

They have already stated it was an attack. Yes betonline has stated as such.

Other than sustaining a sophisticated DDOS attack, what leads you to believe that the book isn't safe? I haven't seen anything other than annoyed players (myself included).

I am in country so I am not allowed to play at BOL/LV, but if I could--would deposit big money today. They have deep pockets. This is ruff patch for the players no doubt, but a few nice mea culpas and some generous fp and all will be good

FWIW I tried desktop with Chrome and mobile. Both work.

I agree on deep pockets. Also agree on average at best customer service. And unless you have someone running to this site and calling you daily looking for you to make a deposit, I have a hard time seeing this as Bet Islands 2.0.

My guess is In The Desert (7 posts 6275 bet points, nice) is right on lose lose. Not much SBR can say if it's DDOS, again why publicize it?

With the deep pockets that they have. They should hire better staff for good customer service or at least have a policy and class how to deal with customers. And while there at it hire reliable I.T. personnel that know their shit.

Their website technology clearly isn't up to standards. Lets be realistic there's plenty of higher target websites hackers would go after then BOL and they have been struggling for a week now.

Whether it be DDOS or something else, I know that it will eventually be resolved. It keeps coming back up which means they are trying to stabilize things. No one has run away with my money.

When they do come back, it’s easily one of the top 2 or 3 books available to US players. I’m fine with this. Will play elsewhwere in the meantime.

Nor can I today, mobile or desktop. I get SBR not commenting, to not bring light to this in this forum if it does nothing but harm, but the fact I haven't got an email from them as a customer is mind blowing, if not inexcusable. A tweet update from their Twitter handle isn't the same.
