#641I don't know if this has been brought up or not???
I've probably sent BitPay 25 transactions to load the crd.
My question is this.... how many times have you sent Bitcoin to Bitpay... and the amount sent... took a huge drop off and Bitpay took the hit on it???
For example... let's say you sent them 1k... but by the time Bitpay received it.... that 1k sent was only worth $980? They still credited your acct with 1k on the crd but it was only worth $980?
24 out of 25 deposits made.... it was entirely automated.... and I never took the hit.
Still trying to figure out how 1 deposit I made to them.... it was actually recalculated.... and that was one of the fastest deposits every made... only took 14 minutes to confirm. I lost $8.00 on the conversion.
Just wondering if this works out for everyone??? Is Bitpay always taking the hit when the Bitcoin loses value? I think it's awesome.Comment -

#644Ok, couple questions:
1. You can load cash on this card and convert it to Bitcoin and send the Bitcoin to Blockchain, correct?
2. If yes, have you tried to load cash onto the card using Google Wallet or Square Cash?
I'm considering getting this card as a way to buy bitcoin quick by instantly transferring money through Google Wallet (if you haven't used it, you can instantly send money to someone using your bank's debit card to transfer money to the other's bank account using their debit card with Google being the intermediary). However, Google Wallet can be finicky on the debit cards they take. I have noticed they seem to work on debit cards you can reload, but they won't work on gift cards you can't reload (i.e. AMEX gift card).
Figured I could do (if feasible):
Deposit: Bank to BitPay (through Google Wallet), convert cash to Bitcoin, to Blockchain to Book
Withdraw: Book to Blockchain to BitPay, convert bitcoin to cash, Google Wallet BitPay to bank.Last edited by mrpapageorgio; 09-22-17, 04:56 PM.Comment -

#646It's Bitcoin to a prepaid type of crd (Bitcoin To Cash.) Just an easier method to get your cash when you win from a book... and you can spend it wherever CC's are accepted. No fees at all... Just make sure you swipe it somewhere once every 90 days. I think they start charging a $3 or $5 fee when you don't use it... (90 day rule)Comment -

#647If it's only good for receiving Bitcoin to convert to cash, then it won't work for me. I use GDAX as my exchange and when cashing out, I usually have the money in my bank account in 1-2 business days depending on when I initiate the transfer. My only issue is finding an efficient way to obtain bitcoin quick since it takes 3-4 business days to ACH funds to them.Comment -

#655We know the BitPay card is cheap, low fees, good exchange rate and reliable support.
Shift could be great too. But BitPay card almost seems too good to be true and we know it really is from the almost 18 months of user posts in this thread..Comment -

#657Connecting Dwolla to a Shift card is similar to Bitpay card? Are you able to withdraw from a book directly to your Dwolla account and use the funds with the Shift card? I am looking for another alternative for the Bitpay card. I can not use Coinbase anymore therefore I had to use Dwolla.Comment -

#658After not getting the card On the 9th business day I called and they said the card should be there tomorrow it was mailed the day after it was ordered.
Got an email just now from Bitpay that they ran out of stick and were delayed by 2 more weeks. So will be at least month waiting.

#665You sounded like a whiny child here. In any case, glad you got your card. I just can't imagine how you'd react to a real problem if this is how you react to receiving a free card.Comment
