#117SBR, we need some details. I'm picturing VD and CrazyL throwing down constantly at the SBR offices. Then, with other workers fearing for their lives due to the violent nature of VD and CrazyL's squabbles, Willie Bee steps in and is forced to let one of them go, ultimately choosing Lou.
Am I close?Comment -

#119Dave,
If you can make it, Pete Carroll needs a running back for the Cal game. Something about a weight lifting accident. Johnson will be okay thank goodness...but it sounds like Carroll needs you ..in a big way. Fight on.

All the best moving forward Dave and like some have said here, that getting fired for some people was the best thing to happen to them. Doors opened that they never knew were there and a dose of reality is sometimes all the motivation one needs to step up their game.Comment -

#134Texas is an "at will" state. Companies can fire you at will with no explanation. Of course noone wants to see someone fired but companies have to make decisions on the bottom line. What business is it of any of us to know why this decision was made? It could be for performance or it could be to cut cost. It is not for us to question.

Millions of people have lost their jobs the past year. It's very tough for people to go through. You have to get some support sometimes to move forward during this difficult time. Fortunately there are some great agencies that can help you get back on your feetComment -

#137If it ever came out it would most likely come from Dave. There's really nothing to be gained by the company to air dirty laundry. I handle HR issues every day and see people let go for a variety of reasons. It's never fun but it has to be done. It's usually best to give the employee some heads up, so that it doesn't totally blindside them, especially if its to cut cost. If it's performance or maybe legal incident then sometimes you have to make the cut immediately before the employee can sabotage the company.

I hear you, for about 5 years, I was having to fire an employee about once every 3 months. Now that I have made my requirements harder to get the job and I pay more, I have good people that don't mess around.המוסד

#139I remember the first post of his I read that caught my attention. It was basically asking why we care to pay the juice at certain books. Truthfully, I did not pay him much attention as I don't really pay anyone close attention around here, but I wish him the best in life just like everyone else.Comment -

SBR are here to make money and they have the right to hire and fire at their discretion. Maybe he didn't fit into what SBR thought they wanted - who knows? Well Dave knows and SBR knows. But that's beside the point.
But I do know one thing. I know that Dave got his notice a month ago but continued to work his notice, continued to partake in the Beat Vegas Dave contest, continued to post his froggie picks, continued to take shit from people who have nothing better to do than give him shit and continued to be a really nice bloke. And when it came to the end, he was classy enough to say his farewell and not talk shit (aside from a little jab, he's human after all).
