No idea at all why you even posted this question if all you’re gonna do is defend yourself ad nauseam, and the more you do so the more you seem like a real life douchebag, but I don’t think this is as big of a deal as everyone is making it out to be. Lotta people honestly jealous that they can’t live at a casino too so they’re lashing out calling you a horrible father talking about chores and laundry when they’d do the same exact thing if they could. The one thing that nobody is saying though is you need to continue to work towards an exit strategy because though it might seem cool with them now, they’re not always gonna want to live like this, and it will go to shit fast when that day comes.

My parents are very old at 85 and 89 and they live in Virginia. They are tired driving up to AC once a month.

They would like to sell their house and buy a house near us and live with us. His house is paid for, so if we sell our house too then we can buy one for about 800K in cash with no mortgage. The houses in the area with a great schools are priced around there but they were only half that not even 2 years ago so we feel like we are losing out somehow.

This stupid housing market is where the problem is at the moment, so we are mulling it over for now.

I don't have a problem with people voicing their opinion about my arrangement even though that's not what I was looking for with this poll. Perhaps what I said in the first post "Someone on another forum thinks it's strange" created that atmosphere and led people to that path. I wonder how people would have responded if I said "Someone on another forum thinks it's great and they wish they could do the same" instead?

I am an IT professional and my wife is a CNA. Between me and my wife, we make almost 200K a year but the taxes kill us.

I don't make anything out of casino gambling as I'm probably breaking even at best, so as long as I don't lose I'm ahead because of the savings staying in casinos as to staying at home. Unless I decide to do the card counting for blackjack, I probably won't win consistently in casinos. I used to win a decent amount playing blackjack but when the automatic shuffling machines came around, that went out the door.

I do make a decent amount betting on sports doing my own capping on football and tailing JayDr3am's picks. I owe him a lot to be honest.

People talk about how bad AC is and that, but do you really think my kids walk around the streets? They go swimming at 3 different indoor pools, go to the beach a lot, walk on the boardwalk because they are gaining weight, and play at an arcade. They don't go out running around at night in the streets, so if things are really bad in AC, then they don't get to see any of it. I do drive around the town at night to move around between the casinos and I don't see what people are talking about that it's bad in AC. Perhaps if I went further into the city away from the casinos then maybe, but why would I? Look for hookers? Why, so I can get disease? No thanks.

They love their own rooms at home especially because they have a big curved gaming monitors. I offered to them to bring them to AC and they said no because they don't need it. What's the difference between their rooms as to a very nice hotel room? A bit smaller but they have a plenty of space, but they said they don't have a bug in the hotel rooms. They are little girls and we had a tiny spider once and they freaked out and they are constantly busy looking around to see if there are more in their rooms. This was when we went home for a couple of days not that long ago because I had fix something for my wife at home.

The cyber school is called EdOptions Academy and it's all on-line with real teachers. It's run in conjunction with our school district and from what I can tell, my kids are definitely learning for sure because some of the stuff I see I don't even remember learning when I was in elementary school and they aren't easy.

in the hotel are you in suites with separate bedrooms? i figured kids would want their space and privacy especially as they get older.

the kids learning and swimming is good. as long as they still learn responsilbilites and recognize life is much different outside a hotel.

But honestly, at Borgata, if I get rooms on weekdays instead of weekends, then I can get Fiore suites and they are huge and very nice.

Borgata has two huge outdoor pools, but they are only good for 2.5 months a year.

All other perks I could get if I was winning huge which I am not.

However, I ran across someone who won 700K in 6 months playing baccarat. He was gong to tell me his secret but now he is balking, so I don't know what's going on.

Either he is trying to protect me because the secret is failing or he is too busy winning in the casino and therefore he has no time to email me the secret which apparently is very complicated.

When we can we like to take mini vacations like 3 nights there and go on the boardwalk. Other then being bugged at times for money do not really have any issues on there feel pretty safe. But you go 2 blocks into the city and you are rolling the dice. Like to go when it is slow so not that crowded . After my busy season in Dec. is a good time.
