I took the San Diego Padres.

My only concern with this early season game is that the Padres were underdogs briefly here. While the public pressure may have swayed the opener to be what it is, the books had to have known market moving money would come to San Diego.

I have an early season prediction that takes into account historical early seasons and some relevant early season year to year metrics. It has San Diego winning 3-2 so I took them right away. That's the "sharp" line here.

So the books drew money on the initial dog then drew further public support on Colorado when they flashed to the dog.

The books could have made this game a pick em from the start but instead wanted to draw in more early season action.

So the "sharp" line shows a 5 point game and the the public gauge show San Diego winning 4-3, a 7 point game. With all the attention being attracted to the winner and the bets being drawn in perhaps the Total is being overlooked.

The line has moved towards the both San Diego and the UNDER, consistent with my prediction but not necessarily consistent with the tickets sold, according to my information. We may have two instances of reverse line movement but it may be tough to win both bets.

Instead of a parlay, I took them individually.
