#215I wonder how much canucks bettors are gonna lay on the series price now? Its +102 for van. I can see the canucks pushing hard in game 2 and quick becoming the hero.
Also interesting that pens still favored to win there series while number 1 seed canucks aren't anymore.
Sometimes the games are close but the series aren't. Sometimes before you know it you are down 2-0 in games.
I think the knigs are a bargain again at +160 in game 2. I can't see the canucks shorthanded that much again but I also can't see luongo playing that well again.Comment -

#220+160 is a bargain, but it's very very unlikely for a team to take 2 on the road in the playoffs. Should be a good game tomorrow. Van felt the pain of the game last night, they aren't going to get 8 dumb penalties like last night.Comment -

#222While I wouldn't mind LA taking down the Canucks I'd rather have them ousted by my Blackhawks. But either way I'm happy when the Canucks lose!Comment -

#223Series is far from over.
Canucks take game 2 and will definitely win one in LA, then we have ourselves a series. Cancuks series prices is tempting right now - its gonna drop big after game 2.Comment -

#224I also did find it interesting. I'm tempted to pick the Pens series now at -125. I thought from the start that the pens had much higher odds of going through then the Canucks. And I guess the oddsmaker still agreeComment -

#226IM a bostonian. I will be rooting for the Bruins in the East.
As we know the canucks are the biggest Bruins rivals. To be honest, I am a canucks fan though.
Not biased.
There just a great hockey team.
They lost one game.......tough to win when you play over a period of time shorthanded.
Im not worried about the series. Canucks need game 2, however.
Then all they need to do is get one in LA to atleast bring it to 7 granted they win at home.
LA got what they wanted, 1 in vancouver. I think Canucks spank them in game 2 for situational reasons............but everyone approaches games differently, does not mean you are biasedComment -

#228I never said Richards had a "great" performance.......I was merely pointing out that he was far from a "ghost" last night.
Why would I give you +100 odds when I've already got the Kings at +180?Again, IMO, I think the Kings have a good shot to win this series. Would I be shocked if they lost it 4 games to 2? Nope.
I'm not a VAN fan and I actually like LA, but how anyone thinks game 1 was a fair assessment of how this series will play out is fukking unreal.Comment -

#234lapierre, burrows, and henrik sedin all were diving in game 1. watch the tape again. it is sickening. On NBC Sports Network last night before bruins/caps game the commentators were talking about it. they showed the tape of like 4 dives from VAN in game 1 and were saying "You know, there's a reason that no one outside of british columbia likes the canucks. They bite. they whine constantly. and they dive and embellish on every play." lol. couldnt agree more.Comment -

#236I know LA had all those powerplays and game 1 is over and can't tell us who will win the series, but when it was 5 on 5 the Kings looked like the better team for most of the game. They have that going for them, they have Quick and all the pressure is on Luongo and the Canucks.Comment -

#237The biggest factor will be whether Henrik can score without Daniel in the lineup. If the concussion lasts longer than a couple games the Canucks will be struggling to get past the second round.Comment -

It's a problem with almost every NHL team now. PIT I think is the worst whining team in the NHL, but in terms of dives it's a widespread epidemic. Diving and lack of respect resulting in dirty hits is killing the game. The referees are clueless when calling these penalties, usually assessing diving and tripping at the same time. How the fukk can it be both?
The solution is suspensions for diving. And increasing the suspensions for repeat offenders. Sadly this will never happen and hockey will become more like soccer where it's just "part of the game".Comment -

#241You forgot the "dive" Kesler did on the first goal, pretending to get hit while running into Quick.

#244again funny how no canuck basher will bother commenting on this video where 2 bruins players dive in less than 10 seconds. One acts like he got shot in the face and the other pretends to trip but ya the Vancouver team is guilty of diving.Comment -

#245i will comment on this. who dives? the camera angle is not good. They are saying it doesnt hit him, but only show the camera angle from behind him/left. They say it doesnt hit him, but they dont even show his face. from the angle on right side it looked like it did hit him. If you watch real close at very tail end of when stick leaving, as van guy moving stick left to right after slash, looking like might have nipped his chin/neck a bit. if the stick caught him on the right side of the neck, you wouldnt see it. bad camera angle. only shows back of head and part of left side of face. Either way, it was clearly a slash. Why did Raymond raise his stick, place it between ference's arm/body, then jerk his stick up in an attempt to hit him in the face? even if it hit his lower-right neck, still a penalty. stick clearly made contact with ference. And ference didn't fall down to the ice. Not like call where sedin dives when not even touched. Ference was still slashed. Find this clip with a better camera angle and we will re-evaluate. slash probably got him on the right side, but camera angle only shows left side. we cant even see the blade of his stick towards the end, right befor ference jerks his head. Marchand was tripped by Sedin. contact was made. not a dive.
even if they are dives (which they are not) they are isolated instances. bruins rarely embellish. very rarely. vancouver does it every single game.Comment
