i think a great position would be "CAPTAIN of the PLAY OF THE DAY". this person would be responsible for finding just one very high percentage pick in any sport. success rate should be 75 percent or he/she gets fired. this would bring a lot of attention to the website.
Want to work for SBR??? What would be your job...

Nope. I actually did something like this for a few months at RebateWager and learned a lot in the process. Main thing I learned is that it is very difficult to be "on" everyday. I have the utmost respect for anyone who can produce entertaining material on a daily basis. Also learned that it is easier to be funny writing about losers than winners. Winners make profits but loser make for better entertainment.
Oh yeah, I also learned that Blackie doesn't much care for McDonalds.Comment -

#44SBRJohn,
Although we are at War, I respect your Power and how you portray it...
It has to feel good to start this thread and have grown men basically E-Blow you while they attempt to get a chance to "work" for you..
These bubblegum posters that only know how to jack off and be jealous couldn't do anything to help this company...
That's why they're here posting in the first place...
As for the King.. My Ideas alone are worth more than any "position"...
You can't afford the King John...Comment -

#45Position: Event Organizer/Project developer.
Salary: Let SBR decide what kind of salary would be fair for such a position.
Duties: Organizing groups of sbr members into a unified vote-based structure, designating project developer committee of active and creative sbr posters. The committee would set and discuss current goals, write new proposals to SBR regarding fundraising from bookies, offer new contests on a vote-based basis. If new contests (unusual format possible) gain enough votes - then writing proposals to the bookies to fund one. Creating and running some kind of a SBR Government issuing offers to all the parties(SBR staff, bookies as well as to sbrposters to back up those improvements).
One of the ideas I have is adding SBRposters Golden Ideas Bank. Storing truly valuable to bettors information on betting (it is getting lost within so many threads which open and close each day) in an organized fashion. So that every poster could access it and without unnecessary junk of opinions benefit from it in his/her own bets. Developers of that information could be rewarded. The information should be reviewed and criticized by the top SBR members and posters to pass.
Have some other ideas also.Comment -

this thread would be like the weather report on TV and such Sbr John and Mods feel free to use this idea and expand on it as you wish
Due to the same reasons I can not become a pro I also couldnt accept a job like this but think someone could take this idea and run with it
Sample: FISHHEAD THE WEATHER MAN
forecast -- NBA forum slow only 2 games today and our experts are only capping so so
Co. BB , hotter than ...... cappers hitting 75%

#61I'll take this topic somewhat seriously...
I'd be the point man to expand the site more heavily into poker, which would in turn bring in affiliate revenue and advertising revenue. It would also ensure the site's continued profitability given that the market and political trends in the US are heading more towards poker both in terms of legalization and legitimacy. As a result -- and given the existing brand name/visibility as well as the already large base of members -- SBR could easily be the 3rd - possibly even the 2nd - biggest player in a very profitable space . GTM plan would involve promotion of free tournaments, getting some WOM going within the community, and doing simple things like offering up FTP, PS, and other poker options into the store. I would also parlay SBR's great SEO (result 1 for sportsbook forum) into some equally lucrative pageranks for relevant poker searches. An investment in poker expansion now will pay large dividends over the near-term (2-5 years), and if poker is legalized for any significant portion of the population (i.e. Californians), those dividends will be even larger (in virtual perpetuity). The other upside of attracting poker players is that many are inclined to gamble, and the poker and sports elements would go hand-in-hand and could thus be a dual source of revenue.
Salary: Not interested. Been my own boss for awhile now, and there's nothing better. If I wanted to do this, I'd probably negotiate a base and large commissions, and make both of us a crapload.Comment -
