As far as my job...The concrete company at the jobsite I'm starting on screwed my company by not being ready on time, so I'm home for another 3 weeks. It's somewhat good, cause I get to relax, watch some baseball, and spend time with the wife. On the other hand though, it sucks becaue it's 3 less paychecks, and I'm pushing hard to win in baseball to not take money out of the bank.
construction work can be hard that way - untimely and unpredictable. I'll take the 3 weeks off

Actually, the 253 isn't because I'm popular, it's because there are soooooo many PR people, press releases, job seekers, and general bullcrap. Wading through this stuff is the worst part of my job. then there are the people who love my column - and the people who hate me - those are the funniest. One American Idol fan told me she'd rather eat dirt laced with magots than ever read my column again. I laughed my ass off at that!

If people hate you then why bother to e-mail you and say so, just don't read it.

There ain't no way I'm telling anyone anything, especially the break up fairy. Are you kidding me, some stuff just needs to be left in the dark recesses of my brain so that it cannot come out and do damage. I could see any innocent thing being twisted into a great big subversive plot against me that even I couldn't lie my way out of.

On second thought, Nanc, you can come near me and my boyfriend only if you have already worked your "magic" on Rage and his Mrs.

            Kidding!

They'll read it, Rage. Week after week. But they are so invested in this musical talent show, that if I don't like their favorite singer, they go apeshit. I wrote one back and said, "It's a TV show, not a peacekeeping mission in the Middle East."

Actually, the whole break-up thing wasn't my fault, I just agreed with the persons breaking up that it was for the best. It was just coincidentally two close friends at the same time, which happened to be right before my birthday. You're safe

100% correct. Wouldn't waste my time. Only time I ever even mailed a newspaper in general, was when the Star Ledger ran a contest for a free Corvette.

If you go to Vegas, we should find a karaoke bar and do our very own Sox. Yanks version of "Ebony and Ivory". I think that would be sweet.

I'm down. I used to sing in a band called Everyone Bleeds Red when I was an angry teen. That should help with the stage fright at least. I'll probably still suck at singing.
