Nice big card tomorrow...we should be able to isolate some good plays tommorrow....If you look at my post on my first set i wrote that i thiught vegas was really sharp tonight......as far as we go they were...usually the system shows us the winners clearly...tonight was just strange when i looked at the results....Cant put my finger on what it was...just seemed ....i dont know.....flat.....i mean dont get me wrong the plays were all plays ......i would release again if i read'em the same way tommorrow....IDK....just flat...its the best way i can explain it.....Hindsight is 20/20

I wish the day was 35 hours longThat's an understatement. I saw your post above about your hectic day, just wanted to say congrats on a great record again and that you are doing a tremendous service to the site here. I hope you know that the fade tonight was nothing personal, just trying to catch a little piece of the market correction.
Keep doing everything exactly as you have been, making time for yourself of course. Two pieces of wisdom to stay on the straight and narrow and avoid some of the mistakes of past posters:
1) Be sure you're always posting widely available lines as the play. If you like something at +6, and it's +6 when you run it through the system for the last time, but by the time you sit down to post it's moved to +5, then either post it +5 or pass on the game. It's obvious in the past couple weeks that you are a standup guy without the ego issues that many tend to get with success. But a lot of guys in the past here have gotten greedy and will say things like "well, i got +6 earlier, sorry that there's only +5 out there now, i punched my bets in two hours ago." Then inevitably the game will land on 5. I've noticed so far, that if anything, you're posting lines that have actually moved the other way (i.e. you post +14 and there are some +14.5's out there). That's just fine, obviously. But like I said, it's clear you're a straight-shooter, so you really shouldn't have to worry about this.
2) Secondly, and this isn't terribly important, but when you go back to grade your plays each night, I'd recommend quoting yourself and adding the 'win' or 'loss' emoticons/etc. next to them, as opposed to actually editing the original post. Again, you've got only good intentions, so it's not that big of a deal, but it's technically proper 'play posting etiquette,' for lack of a better phrase.
Best of luck figuring out the time management side of things, as this has certainly become a second job for you it seems. I've got a family as well, and find that I get some of my best thinking/working/problem-solving/etc done b/t 5:30-6:30am and 9:30-10:30pm. You can also free up some time during the day to run the numbers by eating lunch at work. Easier said than done I know, but I ran a nine-employee company for 5 years as well, so I know how stressful it is. I scarfed down many a Subway sandwich on the copy machine between customers and phone calls. Cheers!

Hey LGO,. A lot of sound advice and opinions tonight...Overall everyone should still be up if your doing this correctly. No reason to have a few PLAYS, ruin a few DAYS worth of work. Keep it up, man. looking forward to seeing where this goes...

Oh and BTW if anyone is wondering....before i release the plays i bet them with my book....the lines i get are sometimes more beneficial than those that i see here in the live odds section...I ALWAYS use the average line i see there...even if mine is better....sometimes i win my bets and lose them here on the site....Its actually happened quite a few times.......Hoja is right...i am and always will be a straight shooter

I just stumbled into this thread, and I rarely ever bet NCAAB games, but it sounds like there is a bit of a following here, and I for one can appreciate a man who has a alot of a life and still finds a way to run his model and post his plays for the rest of the world to see. Obviously, there is a part of a person that wants to show his successful model to the world, but with that comes alot of risk that "shiet goes wrong", and brings haters out (Esp this year) and I can't thank the model guys enough for their work and efforts in this forum.Comment -

No worries from our team.....Losses are a gift knowledge wise for us....The negativity dosent bother me at all...i understand people being upset when they dont win money....i am as well.....we will take last nights info and use that to make better decisions in the future.....Every day is another day to log results and back check numbers....Our overall success makes it diffcult to make positive changes as we usually dont have negative things to look at.....I know most dont want to hear that but if some of you have the oppurtunity to develop a system like this you will see how important having negative results sometimes is to tweaking and refining it....LGO-- probally gonna get a lot of negative crap today because you only went 50/50 last nite LET IT ROLL.just keep doing what you do best and that is posting winners at a very high clip, thanks for all the time an effort you put in here very very time consuming,(OK now get to work on tonites card lol.)Good Luck
Dont get me wrong....my day is much eaiser when im staring at a 75% night.....but when the oppurtunity arises to gather information about the negative side i take it as a good thing for the system....we gain results ....and for us results are everything.......we shall see what tonight brings

Well said, LGO and also 100% correct. I'm continually tweaking the statistical models I use, and the losses always seem to provide more insight into what can make it better than the wins do...just the nature of the beast, I guess. But you're doing some fantastic work here and winning makes it all worth while.
Also saw your earlier post about your day...I finally got around to automating most of my model about 2 years ago and saved a ton of time (at least in getting the raw data in). Not sure if yours can be done that way, but PM me if you want and I can bounce some stuff your way.
