LVBOUND - at least stay the 18 months and get the small pension security coming your way. Play offshore (not illegal, by the way) until then to see how it goes. Pensions are very very rare these days, and 1100 bucks plus a social security check will leave you a small nut to cover when you are ready to retire. Don't throw that away. EVEN IF YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL at this endeavor, you shouldn't throw away a sure thing like a pension.
I have finalized my decision to move to Vegas

#214If you truly feel that you will be successful at this and you truly believe that online gambling is illegal for you to be doing (which it is not as long as you pay your taxes) why not invest $2,000 into consulting with an attorney who is familiar with US offshore gambling laws? This $2,000 investment could ultimately save your family, I would say that is a good investment.
Better yet PM Justin7 he is both an attorney and a professional gambler who does not live in vegas Justin7 is very helpful and very well informed about this subject.Comment -

#235The haters are those who say, go and catch your dream or go to Las Vegas and Become a millionaire. Do not be silly, do not let your family, do not leave your job. Living in Vegas is the most stressful that can happen in your life, if you lose. However if you play offshore and lose nothing will change. As most of us do.Comment -

#244LV ... if this thread is for real, I can't help putting in my two cents.
You should reconsider. Sorry. But $25000 is nowhere near enough capital, unless you're clairvoyant. I believe that, even if you are a decent handicapper, you'd have to add another zero to the end of that number to be in the ballpark -- if you want to have any sort of life at all in Vegas, and if you really want to provide for your family.
By the way, Vegas is not a nice place to live, unless you really like sitting in a sportsbook, drinking a free well drink and rooting for your team to make a ******* shot so you can cover and be up for the day. You probably will not be able to afford the Cirque shows or the lap dances.
I say you should put pictures of your wife and daughters on the desk in front of you, and really think this through. You have a family. You have a way of supporting them. Don't underestimate what you have.
You would not be the first person to move to Vegas with your last $40K. Believe me.
By the way, Vegas is a long way from South Lake Tahoe. Have you considered Reno? They have trees there.
With all this said, whoever you are, and whatever you are thinking, and whatever you do ... best of luck to you.Comment -
