Pennsylvania, NY, Mississippi and Delaware, West Virginia will all have it this football season. Maybe not by week 1, but certainly by the Super Bowl. Louisiana and Connecticut won't be far behind. Other states will be case-by-case.Originally Posted by jjgold
Pennsylvania and Delaware will be up by football season. Guaranteed. Delaware already has the infrastructure in place, Pennsylvania already passed the legislation. The case was argued last fall, it was fairly obvious to everyone in the industry that PAPSA was going to be struck down. Casino and Gaming executives already have a plan in place in Pennsylvania, it's not like they waited until this morning to get ready for a launch.
That makes a ton of sense. Top 3 or so companies in Vegas also best positioned to develop new business or buy existing.
NY will. The state is as desperate and have had trouble keeping CT/PA/NJ from siphoning gambling revenue for years. Racetracks, which have already been operating slots for a few years now, would be ready to go in days.

Yeah I read NY's legislation and I agree. Thought it was weird how the state run casinos will have it but the Indian run casinos (Turning Stone) won't.
Turning Stone was the NY casino I have been to the most but now I'll probably drive the extra hour to del Lago.
The Meadowlands, The Big M has applied for a ruling on how to proceed with sports betting. They will have it, in one form or another.
In AC, The Borgata and the new Hard Rock (formerly Trump Taj) also plan to be up and running by NFL season.
They just said on the radio that Meadowland could have it by the end of the summer.
NY couldn't have it until next year.

Vegas is dead. Sell all property in Vegas immediately.
Vegas will always be a destination most people do not go their to bet sports they could hurt during big events but that’s about it

I think sports gamblers who associate with sports gamblers lose track of just how few (in terms of percentages) people go to Las Vegas primarily for the sports gambling.
Most states no where near passing any bills

I live in florida and the southeast and none of these states are going to see sports gambling any time soon.if they ever see it. State legislatures are terrible and slow and there is going to be a lot of opposition in alot of states

Of those 5 states where it will happen they are all places no one wants to visit ( west virginia,new jersey,Mississippi,Delaware, etc. none of these compare to vegas , Biloxi and Atlantic city are no comparison.
Why would anyone want to go to some crappy racetrack in some shitty state and pay terrible odds and a nice 8-10% tax rate when you can get online an get a better number?
A place like pennsylvania is going to have a 36 percent tax on gambling revenue and a $10 million licensing fee for a sports book operator???
The greatest thing to come out of this is if americans could have access to the best sportsbooks in the world like pinnacle

I haven't been offshore in awhile (working on it). Can somebody tell me what KYC (I keep seeing people post it) stands for? Is that related to fried chicken? I Keep trying to get back offshore, but stuff keeps coming up
I'm assuming it has to do with confirming your identity. I sent some stuff in to Bookmaker, but it wasn't good enough because it wasn't in color. I said the hell with it and stayed with my local. I'll figure it out eventually.
I got it now. I'm an idiot. Forgot about Google. I still don't know why it has to be in color. What's next, am I gonna have to send in a DNA sample? I understand their point of view though, I guess. I just don't have a color scanner. I guess I'll just have to go to Staples.

I'm not disagreeing with JJ, same thing that's happened with legalizing marijuana is going to happen to gambling
William Hill, Heritage, and others will, similarly, to drug cartels, get more access to the U.S.
The more I read a lot of states will never get it and the ones that will it will be like five more years from now it’s going to be an East Coast thing like I said it’s definitely transcending and cannot hurt again gambler for the future
So Americans are allowed to use overseas gambling sites, does this SC decision, now mean, there can be legal bookie sites all across the USA, like Ladbrokes in the UK and the TAB in New Zealand. Plus online websites based in the USA?
Here in New Zealand, we have the "TAB" you can go into their stores and place bets, most people use their online site though. If you want to deposit, you can do it, instore or online, but if you want to withdraw, you have to go into their store. There are no taxes on winnings thankfully.
The amount of options you can bet on is amazing. eg: Nba, first basket scorer, first three point scorer, player performance, if it can happen in a game, you can bet on it, its not just a point spread, combined point or head to head thing.
Offshore is laughing it’s going to be so regulated it’s going to be horrible and only maybe five states will have it for the next three years
Look at it this way - I’m in NY. Belmont race track is GIGANTIC. Plenty of room to make a banging sports book that will jump on NFL Sundays.
Sooner than later this scenario will play out from coast to coast. Net-net less people going to church and larger overall handle.

I disagree; there's no need for all the crap offshore books, at least for U.S. players. And, really, who cares what bettors' needs are anywhere else? Let 'em suffer through the misery if that's their only choice.
