I think it was rude as hell to demote DJ to 4th string where in practice he had to step in as scout team safety. I have mixed feeling about DJ's ability to start in the NFL, but by ALL ACCOUNTS he is an upstanding dude and earned the respect of teammates. The zeal with which the Giants threw him under the bus was a bit suspect.

And to show how unserious the team is today, they had DeVito as back up. How did they not keep Tyrod Taylor over DeV to back up? The Tommy Cutlets phenomenon was fun, but did not warrant a repeat performance. LinSanity happened once, not twice.
Taylor took less money to sign with the Jets. Didn't like how he lost the starting job to Devito last year

How come Cowboys are only -4 against Giants? I thought line would be -6.5 or 7.

I'm hearing from reliable sources from The Athletic that the Ravens are considering Danny as an insurance backup policy for Jackson.
That's the perfect landing spot for Jones. Baltimore is loaded with fine coaching.

The same reliable sources say the Niners and Vikings might be interested, and the Raiders are considering taking on Jones as a 'bridge starter'.

Meanwhile Daboll is in deep doo, like he's in really deep shit.

I could see that happening...let's be honest, certain teams are so dysfunctional some of these young QBs do not even have a chance to succeed.

Jones made a great choice signing with the Vikings and O'Connell....I was thinking the other day he would be smart to sign with a team with a head coach that has a track record of grooming QBS(Vikings, Chiefs, 49ers). Anyhow, maybe O"connell can get him right. I do not think Jones will ever be a top end QB but wouldn't be shocked if he became a starter again down the line somewhere.

Hi, Jake. I'm a firm believer in a "good QB room."

By that I mean the backup has to be ready to go in at a moment's notice. QB handles the ball every play, so their impact on the game is dis-proportional. A lot of film-study and preparation.

Darnold won't feel threatened for his job. But there's a chance that Jones could bring a veteran view to the QB room. Just my two cents.

Darnold is playing on a 1 year contract. Free agent after the season. With McCarthy back next year, the Vikings would not resign Darnold for the huge amount he will get after this years performance. That makes Jones a perfect fit as a backup next year. He helps the rookie and steps in if the kid isn't ready. Smart move IMO.

Danny had to get out of NY, NYG (my favorite team and always will be, I'm loyal to them) right now is a big steaming pile of shit from the top on down.

Daboll is history, Daboll is a hot head, he lost the locker room.
The locker room loved Danny so much they laid down to the Bucs, the team quit on organization, and I don't blame them.

Jones had no blocking for four years, no standout wide receivers and a healthy Barkley for two years.
I love the kid, everything about him, he was set up to fail.

Just my observation, Danny is very tall, he's a tad awkward.
Know this and know this well, the kid can take a hit, he's tough as nails.

                          Nasher,

Yeah, Tall guys on a fast break can get ugly.

Did you ever do that trying to leg out a double or even worse trying to get home from 2nd base with those catchers thighs of yours ?

Yeah, I did too. I think more than once. And I wasn't tall. Hahaha

Yep, these catchers' thighs now need hip surgery after the New Year but that's another story for another day.
                            I'm only 5'8 178lbs, I'm a fireplug, and I'm breaking down, guys like Danny, 6' 6" breakdown much quicker.

This was a bullshit move by benching him rather than risk paying the injury clause in his contract.
As a lifelong Giants fan this leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth.
Classless act from a once very classy organization.

                                  Beyond classless.
