Twinkies with yet another extra inning collapse.
They had the team formerly known as the Indians by the balls last night, then they loaded the bags in the tenth, and couldn't seal the deal.

Cleveland knows how to take care of business though.

Hey, I'm rooting for the Tigers too, as long as it's not at the expense of KC.
If Detroit does get in, most likely they'll get Baltimore in the WC series.
And Baltimore is floundering big time right now, this is exactly when you want to face the Orioles.

        Baltimore croaked the Tigers 7-1.

I'll defend Detroit here; they haven't lost two consecutive games since September 4th.
Tigers were on a 10 and 3 run going into tonight's action, and it's difficult in baseball to maintain that kind of heater.

Johnny V. asked me a couple of weeks ago if the Tigers had a chance to make the playoffs.
I told him they did, but the chances are very thin as they would have to pretty much run the table to catch not one, but two teams.

The Twins actually pulled off a clutch win, they beat the Red Sox in twelve innings.
I would love to see the Tigers and the Royals advance, but that may be the dagger.

KC lost a squeaker to SF 2-1, but Detroit is chasing the Twins, not the Royals.

Tigers are two games behind the Royals. and remain one game behind Minnesota, with eight games now remaining on the docket.
A six and two finish is imperative for the Bengals and pray both Minny and KC go at least three and five down the stretch or worse.

On a side note, Todd Zola just tweeted out an amusing tweet that pretty much holds true.
Zola tweeted "Every time somebody does a promo on today's new-fangled math it takes longer to explain it than to do it the old fashioned way.

        So true.

True, reason being injuries to the middle of the lineup.
That's not an excuse, as each and every team suffers key injuries, but that's the reason.

I'm on under 55 in the Kansas - West Va. game.
IMO that total should be more like 49, and I hate betting the under.

That West Virgina-Pennsylvania region is notorious for freaky weather, and equally notorious for their 140-proof moonshine.
You ever watch that Moonshiner series on Discovery.

Those hillbillies know the moonshine business inside out.
They make beau coup money off of that, and don't think about crossing those West Va. hicks, they'll shoot you where you stand and bury you in those mountains where the authorities would never find the body.

Twins have a brutal double header at Fenway today.
That's a tough park to play in as visitors.
