#850This is all I'm going to say before I go back outside...
Firstly the title of this thread isn't a memorial thread, RIP, etc. It simply says Kobe is dead. I did not come into a "RIP thread" as you called it to trash someone. Never have and never will.
I also do not think Kobe's disgusting. I think he treated those who loved him very wrongly and I said so. I have said it many times on this forum and elsewhere and will continue to. For some of you you seem to think that when you die of old age it's no holds barred... let's unleash on this person and say the truth. But God forbid you die young or in an accident... then you're apparently supposed to pretend a person was a saint. Accidents happen every hour of every day. Kids in childrens hospitals die every hour of every day.
Put things into perspective people. Kobe wasn't a saint so stop trying to make him into one when yesterday the majority of you would've used vastly different adjectives to the ones you're using in here. Stop being so bloody hypocritical especially when we can search all of your posts yeah?
lets not argue about the messenger here because our idea of right vs wrong can be awfully arbitrary. More so, celebrate the message he conveyed to everyone on a daily basis and thats what hurts here. that we lost someone who preached hard work in a world now where that is a minority.Comment -

#854we all have our vices Shari. would hope you understand there is no manual for the little thing called life so although he did make his mistakes, he also did try to spread awareness for being the best we could be while working hard for it which sadly is lost in today's influential figures.

#860The thing with Kobe that resonates with people is that he literally grew up on TV right in front of us, warts and all. People make mistakes in life. By all accounts he did his best to atone for his wrongs and dedicated his life to a family that will never see him or his 2nd daughter again. It's sad.
I don't think anyone here has engaged in any sort of hero worship. People just feel like maybe they knew him a little better than most.Comment -

The big wigs all died from drugs but Kobe from a plane/heli crash which makes it more unfortunately tragic I think.. Kobe was on the right path in life today..Comment -

#869This thread is bringing to the fore questions that need to be answered... When people die it seems it becomes taboo to speak of the demons they had to face; which was a crucial part of their journey!
