Edit: 4/21, A Message from Dave's family:

All - thanks to each of you here at SBR who expressed concern and offered thoughts and prayers.

This past week has been filled with a host of different emotions; uncertainty, fear, love, and ultimately despair. One feeling that remained constant throughout the week was support. Some of the support came from people who knew David for decades, some from those who only knew him as an acquaintance, and some who had never met Dave at all, but still offered help. The outpour of support from the Las Vegas hiking and sports community has been truly remarkable. Words cannot describe how grateful we are for the volunteer hikers, Red Rock Search and Rescue, Metropolitan Police, and everyone who offered support to find David. As we all know, Dave had a particular fondness for Bristlecone Pine Trees and referred to them as his “Old Friends in High Places.” We find comfort in knowing he passed doing what he loved, and is now resting peacefully among his friends.

Lucky enough to call Dave a friend. Always a pleasure to chat with, and he carries around positive energy. Praying for a positive outcome and turning up the Bruce Springsteen today.

I can't possibly send enough thoughts and well wishes to Dave, his family and everyone affected. We can only hope that he is found safe, and that his health and well being have not been compromised. Life seems so unfair and indifferent when it adversely afflicts the most generous among us. Here's to hoping that all will be okay for Dave and those that care about him. May the four winds blow him safely home.....

Maybe, could also get others into trouble and divert needed resources away from finding him to helping other well intentioned friends. Seen it more than you could imagine.

hope he turns up but this is very strange , if he was missing for hours
and a search team hadn’t been scouring the area then it’s likely all is fine
but for it to be 48 hours and a S&R team

already made contact with vehicle and did a search
But no more comments from this fella right here then ,
