I wont sell tesla but due to my increased percentage, i want to buy more during the dip and hold long. I hold a lot of these big companies. I don't like selling my position in big stocks, averaging down is alway better i thnk.

Similar to how yall good sportbettors find some value in comparing past performance, espcially taking into consideration the outside factors of that performance.
There should be a way to "handicap" stock history due to their past performance. say you see a good, but irregular pattern in the charts of a company. i want to be able to find articles, rumors, or even public confirmations that show us why this stock behaved this way in that time.
any ideas fellas?Comment -

But if you study some charts, and put in the earnings and dividends, you can often see repeated pattern. Like a run up to and the sell off the of ex date for the dividend.
I'm going to dig around in the Schwab software. I know you can get just the news feed for and company and then go back and see what the news was at almost any time. Combine that with the chart and you have something to work with.
I get what you're looking for but often there are similarities between companies so that we can run screens to see, say who's breaking out of new highs with high volume and things like that.
Sometimes technical factors just work the same way no matter the stock.
I think a comibination of both becomes a good arsenal for all of us.
I'm going to keep digging in Schwab. We can test too. If you have a chart and a dip or rise and want to know why, post the dates here and we'll see how useful the news look up can be.

#5395The best idea I can think of off hand is to watch those stocks and experience it real time. But of course the internent is huge tool.

its easy to see a companies charts and see when and that they had favorable patterns...but why?
Im willing to do research. Thought I'd mention this since us spoetsbettor are getting slammed for entering the stockmarket. Were not dumb investors in price, due diligence, and value.
If we had more "stats" and why, it could help us all. Let's make a project out of it. I wanted to sign up for journal/article databases and look for patterns of news and stock performance.
Just talking shit, good luck fellasComment -

#5397VTIX, think I’m buying at open and holding until pumps past 230, one day or two this week we should take a beating
GNUS, if this doesn’t make another run this week... not sure when it will again.
RPRX, posted about this on Saturday, hoping to grab at the IPO offering for less than$27Comment -

my suggestion to jayla would be focus on 5-10 companies, preferably smaller and more stable... just like sports betting it's much easier to beat the smaller markets and find value, and find good opportunities to buy/sellComment -

#5399if you want a site that has a system. you can try investor business daily. they deal with growth stock that break out of new highs with high volume.
the subscription is expensive, but you can do the free trial thing if you are a person that remembers to cancel. they are always running deals for their subscription service where you can get in and get out a couple of months at at time with a nominal fee. when i am looking for stocks to follow, I will sometimes go to them for what to put on my radar.Comment -

#5408I bought into BIOC instead. Figures just my luck, the minute I buy it the stock shoots down. I swear, I have the worst luck with penny stocks. It's like betting, though. I have the urge to play them for the excitement but I always end up on the wrong side. Meanwhile, the two stocks I passed on but was going to play, DGLY and XSPA, shoot way up.Comment -

#5409Just back from a week longs visit to the Everglades, were myself and the wife tracked old school Indian style through the swamp looking for wildlife and exotic plants in their natural habitat. I can't say I liked it, actually it sucked and visiting Florida in mid June is almost like a death wish unless you like getting eaten alive by deer flies. I made it however and now I don't have to go outside for a while. In the meantime it looks like the market has pulled back a little bit and some of my automatic trades have triggered like short plays on PFE, and XLF. I also got stopped out of BA long. Today just looking for some more downside movement to see if I can add to my short position on PFE.
Still waiting for the gold miners to start down significantly so I can add to the short position that I have in those but fear that they won't come down much before they turn back up.Comment -

#5417Added another 200 shares to my short of PFE. It has shown relative weakness in the last hour so adding lightly here with at $33.15 and placing my stop at $34.01 to lock in profits with the overall position.
Market turning the tide today and jumping up positive in the last hour so far.Comment -

#5418sold my two little puts a half hour ago on FED NEWS.
Historic announcement. Violation of its charter and mandate, but nobody cares.
The Fed is making unrestricted purchases of individual corporate debt according to its own preferences.
