#1437The situation is pretty simple now.... for the person that's not REALLY IN AT THE MOMENT... Bitcoin is so highly priced... you could get your ass lit up going in at the wrong time.
For the person that's been in it at around the 2200 mark... or even 3200... sh#$.... just ride the wave. Why the fuk would you get out?
So... I'm disappointed in myself for not trusting it.... and not getting involved in it... I got involved around the 4100 mark.... and sold at 4300. I can't trust this sh#$. Especially if you don't have $ to lose.
But we're at the point now.... it's deadly to get it..... you would chance 7000 for one coin at the moment? It could lose 1000 overnight... at anytime.
Just wondering if you guys think or feel the same way? It's almost a lost cause to even get involved anymore.
This runup is so strong and so sudden that it feels to me like it must have some irrational exuberance in it. As I mention above, I've set up sells from $7090 all the way to $8190. I'm happy to go higher if the insanity spreads.
At this point, at this price, I'd definitely wait out the fork and see what happens then. If the runup continues its insanity and BTC's at, say, 8k the moment before the fork, then I'd expect a ton of selling immediately after the fork, such that BTC just before the fork will be much > BTC + BT2 a little bit after the fork.
But it's crypto, so who the hell knows?Comment -

#1438Fun thread. Does anyone want to make a bet, like a pool, to guess what BTC/USD ratio will be on christmas or new years eve? We pick a website like bitstamp and make guesses, whoever guesses closest scoops the pot.
I don't post here often but if someone wants to run a pool I can spend some betpoints or real cash. I have a number in my mind already lolComment -

#1439FWIW, and subject to all the usual "Crypto makes fools of us all" cautions, I definitely would not buy right now.

When this fork hits around November 16... what will exactly happen?
For example... let's say you only had 1 bitcoin valued at 7,000 (again just an example)
What will you receive exactly for Bitcoin X2 at the fork? Any estimated value?
I'm just wondering if it's even worth getting involved?Comment -

#1441the price of using bitcoin is that you need to spend hours upon hours researching wtf is going on...and then you still don't really know! how many coins am i getting? are you sure they'll give me both? whats it going to be called again? it's comical at this point. who has the fkin time to keep up with these politics like a daily tv show?i'd rather have an ethereum based sportsbook. keep eth at $300 for all I care. at least I wouldnt have to worry about the stupid fees, slow tx time and crazy price volatility while im wagering. i'd flock to it in a heartbeat.Comment -

#1444Depending on how you sell... selling on Coinbase will lock up your funds and make the profit count as a capital gain so the profit would get killed with tax depending on how long you've held it. If you're going to buy, I'd do so the day after the fork when there's an overreactionComment -

#1447“For those tactically minded, we would be buyers of bitcoin in the $5,500 range, but such a pullback does not need to happen,” Lee, a managing partner of Fundstrat Global Advisors wrote in a Thursday note. In the long-term, Lee expects Bitcoin prices to reach $25,000 by 2022.Comment -

#1455in the event someone is selling a sizable amount and is looking to middle out by selling, and then buying back in a day later, if you didn't have enough to cover the 2nd purchase amount given the transfer hasn't hit your bank account yet (if thats the way you're doing it). sorry if that sounds like hogwash, its 1:40am. I'm burnt out from a 18 hour work dayComment -

#1458CME news brought a lot of media attention to bitcoin. New signups at exchanges has been insane.
Coinbase added 100,000 new customers in one day.Last edited by raiders72001; 11-03-17, 02:48 AM.Comment -

#1465I do, they suck. 10 days ago they mis-sent $6700 of my Tether. That money's zorked in cyberspace until I can get them to fix it, but they haven't even answered my support ticket yet. https://omniexplorer.info/lookuptx.a...f249b1006a28d0
By contrast, Bittrex, who I was sending it to, got back to me that night and finished their investigation two days later.

#1469Quick question. I want to make sure I understand everything correctly. I have my bitcoins seating at Gemini. I didn't transfer them to my bitcoin wallet because it's not a huge amount. Should i sell them before the fork and leave the money on Gemini, and 24 hours or so later buy back bitcoins at a cheaper rate?Last edited by Outsider626; 11-04-17, 09:39 AM.Comment -
