In college a few years ago I played Rugby and we had a few Aussies on the squad (Among a few Irish and English as well). We would all go out a lot and became good friends.....and they all seemed just like normal Americans to me in just about all ways. I mean maybe it's different for the non-college people in both countries but other than the accents and vocabulary, everyone was pretty much the same.
