I cant believe i did that. I couldnt even sleep that night barely. The guy at the carnival said he hasnt seen anyone throw that hard for a few years. All my friends now are telling me to join a team and to write some college coaches I have no idea what to do. I havent played baseball since freshman year in HS and i was at 3rd base

me and my buddy lars are the only ones that tried it and he threw it 58 mph

then it came my turn and i hit 75 right away. everyone was impressed. then i hit 79. i started to be like "wow could i hit 80" so i stretched out a little bit and did some windmills. then i hit 89 and knocked the guys socks off he couldnt believe it. made a huge thud when it hit the tarp

how much movement did you get on that 89mph fast ball?

If you are at all serious, which I doubt, once you start hitting 90 on the radar, the scouts start looking at you. I really doubt you threw 89 on your third pitch though. And if you it did record 89, then the radar gun was malfunctioning.

A friend of mine hit 88 on the radar at myrtle beach, but he was a HS pitcher with college offers.

If you can hit 89mph on flat ground without warming up properly then you would likely be throwing 93-94mph
off of a mound.

not making this up at all. and btw it was over 90 out here. i was sweaty and lose. from my first pitch to the 89 mph pitch i warmed up for about 5 minutes

It may have registered 89 mph.

But the truth is, those carnival radar guns are not exactly accurate. If the aim, or your position varies, the range of accuracy on the gun can be as much as 10-20 mph.

The degree of angle needs to be consistent, and I really doubt much thought is given into how those things are set up.

thats not true .. when i was in high school i was able to throw a low 80s fastball without warming up .. yeah my arm would hurt but whose arm wouldnt?

This right here. No cleats, no mound, no warmup... hitting 89mph? Not a chance, and if you could do that yes, you can at least try to get on a minor league team or something to develop because you'd probably be able to hit 98+ after development and the proper attire on. But, it's a carnival game... not really the most accurate in the world.
