Canada is pretty brutal cuz their team has college kids playing big roles on the team (Olynyk/Sacre) and guys who arent even good who just came out of school (Shepherd/Kendall) who get some run

I think they lost to Greece by 60 or something like that

GL man, the only reason I go to Turkey next week is to watch USA, but as a former player who played some international ball, I will be surprised if USA wins it, I wish you all the luck though...there are many games out there to make few bucks now, and when there I will be able to increse the bet due to knowing more about the games and all...was wrong about Russia, they are in the playoffs for sure

and to reason the under bet...you will see teams eptiing the bench in case of a blowout...and rust player in, low scoring, if the game somehow will be more close then very accurate and low scoring game as well...it can go either way though

and by the way France is no joke...very physical team with good size...Spain has problems because of 2 reasons, very few point off the fast break, and low % of jumpers....so that's the reson...remember I told you that coaches know how to prepare teams for any opponent to maximise the chance of winning...lines on international ball never sharp by the way

Do any of you posters claiming USA will not win this tournament actually watch basketball? Do you understand the concept of defense and athleticism? This is my first trip to this forum and am shocked at the undeducated basketball fans on here. Are you guys really serious?

-Saying things like:"-148 is not a gift when you have to play a dozen games to win it." - Are you serious with that? Not a gift? USA needs to win 9 games first of all, not 12. Second, if you actually break down the bracket Greece, Argentina and Spain will all be on 1 side of the bracket of 16 while USA will be all alone in the 2nd side of the bracket. That means Greece, Spain and Argentina are all going to beat each other up while USA is going to be able to play much easier games. -148 to win 1 tough game is a gift for sure.

-Defuzas: You claim US will not win it this year. Ok then who will? Will it be the Spanish team that couldn't beat France and was leading New Zeland by 4 at halftime? Or will it be Greece, who had to hang on while actually being behind to Puerto Rico and China?

-Another poster actually put money on Canada to win the entire tournament??? They aren't even going to win a single game in the tourney and will finish 0-5. Anyone who wastes any amount of money on a ridiculous bet like that can't be taken seriously. Canada? Really?

-I can't believe how little respect you guys have for the USA team. Its unbelievable. You do realize that Kevin Durant is the NBA scoring leader right? You realize that Coach K is the best coach on the planet and has this team playing cohesive, team defense like crazy. man, just reading this "expert" post and will make few comments..."coach K" is the best coach on the planet...I guess I will have to ask what planet...with all due respect to cocach K he is a "college coach" he is great at what he does, but coaches for most of the teams on this tournament know how to play with less talent...now about the braket...Group A US wins no doubt, and the way it looks GER will be 4 in group B, US wins this game and plays who in the quarter final? winner of game (Grop D 2nd, and group C 3rd)...SPAIN most likely I think....so now we have a great Quarter Final game USA-SPAIN...talking about "great value" on USA to win at all...not so sure...now if USA goes through SPAIN they have a great chance to play Brazil again, we all saw what happend today...I think that USA still clear favorite of this tournament, but to win it all at -148 or -175 whatever the odds are is not the BEST bet you can make for 1000...unless this is about .5% of your bankroll...well everyone can do what they want...but if you bet "your favorite team" you just bind to loose sonner or later, we'll see...that's going to be great tournament, and I will enjoy it...thanks to all

I don't know man, if I would know that I will be rich...I am not calling no names, but the post is full inaccuracies and accusing me of "lack of comprehension" of the game or whatever...I played quite a few games on that level before and can tell you that USA while is clear favorite...not a sure bet, or gift or whatever...if you think that books will give you gifts...keep dreaming...just like your dude...GL with US bet, and make sure you come back here IN CASE they will be out at the playoff stage ok...I will be here to congratulate you in case US will take it...but let's just see what happens...and I still think that much valuable bet is the field at +...but I am not taking this bet either, at least not yet...if US would of take today's game by 22 or whatever books gave us, then US would of cross -200 for the tourney, and I will play the field right there....but let's see what tomorrow will bring to us...GL with your bets

I don't think so man

2nd in Group C will be Turkey, China, or Russia.
The most likely choice for 3rd in Group D is Lithuania. So I'd say USA is going to play Germany, and then Lithuania. The way the bracket is setting up, Argentina, Greece, Spain AND Brazil look to be in the top bracket.
That would leave USA alone with France in the bottom half of the bracket- that's a money path to the Finals

Dimon:

Spain will not finish 3rd in the group. How are you not understanding this. Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Greece are all going to be on one side of the 16 team bracket and USA will be on the other side with Turkey and France. That means Greece, Argentina, Spain and Brazil will all have to play eachother before USA even has 1 tough game. That means USA will play in the Final game against one of those 4 teams. Go look at the FIBA website it has it all on there.
