#2hey... note was right on... last post as well about LA plain losing.. not to blame refs..
with regard to losing by narrow margin..
this tends to favor Celtics... 180˚Degree performances are usually preceded by blowouts... otherwise, Laws if Inertia stay the course..
game following Allen's record setting 3-pt blitz, he was entirely absent..
likely same will occur with KB
IF Lakers lost with KB, they will most probably fold w/out him
homecourt no longer applies, it did not against either Cavs, or Magic
The Lakers were down 35-36 when Kobe went on his 23-0 stretch – meaning he scored 23 straight Laker points. When he was done, the score was 58-67. During that run, Boston scored 31 to his 23.
It simply doesn’t work in the NBA for one player to dominate to that degree.Last edited by Jedi; 06-14-10, 09:28 AM.Comment -

#4Think it would be quite a surprise,IMO, if Boston wins game 6.
I think home court matters a lot from here on out.
L.A. will need to push the ball more and they need to score 100 points. It can not be the Kobe show. Teams win, not players.
Just ask Lebron.Comment -

that was not the score when kobe went on that run it was 39-50 ... it was 39 to 45 to start the half and celtics score a easy 5 to extend there lead and that's when kobe had to turn it on to keep the score close. it was 35-36 in the first half kobe went on fire a lil after the 3rd started ?Comment -

#7GG is right... 'homecourt' means having that advantage.... Lakers have ceded that...
it means never being behind.
Lakers lost it Game 2, regained it Game 3.. and lost it again..
**the 23 pts began at the end of the second quarter
he did not have to do that, he does so because he cannot resist making the statement "I AM better"...
thus negating the "we're better" that the lakers we're hoping for..
when he does that, the other players stand down.
It is a pecking order.. when the General is on a rant "Get outta my way"...
so the Lieutenants, and Captains, shut up...
it does not serve the team for everyone to stand down, so that one can rise..
there is plenty of talent ALL over that team. MOST talent in league--
if you examine the footage, you will see at a point early in the 3rd, he stops setting up anybody...
he gets the ball... and magically hoists it in from wherever... the more he does it, the worse it gets..
and to make matters worse, he calls everybody out in the press conference...
".. then they don't deserve to be Champions" (Kobe Bryant about his teammates)
that is why they will lose..
because his basic message to his team is, "I deserve to be a Champion" but you guys don't.
THAT is why Shaq left, THAT is why Jackson before they lured him back with $1M/month
he just divided the locker room, HIM vs. them.. taking the fun out of it..
thus, Lakers probably will lose Game 6, as they did 2 yrs agoLast edited by Jedi; 06-14-10, 11:00 AM.Comment -

a series is a 2-3-2 format the lakers lost homecourt in gm 2 won it back in game 3 ... if lakers win the championship it will be on there homecourt ... 4 games won on La court ... instead it's 3 on la court and 1 in boston .
if it was not for kobe it would have never been a 6 points gameComment -

um...looks like you are the retard
home court is when you have more games at home and the series is even
if it was 2-2 and 2 of 3 were in la .. They would have homecourst advantage
now they have to win 2 in a row
these are now elimination games !!!!
Lmao...home court advantage - are u kidding meComment -

#101) first of all... "their" homecourt.. not 'there' homecourt
2) lakers will NOT win this series... lakers do VERY badly in elimination games... that car goes downhill only.. no climb
3) GG right again... ELIMINATION game is not homecourt... for Game 6.. (though Game 7 would be considered so...)
but won't get there.. K&Co. finished on Tues.Comment -

#12As an example, suppose that a blue team and red team are about to play a best-of-seven series against each other. Four games will be played at blue's venue, while three will be played at red's venue. If the home team were to win each game, then blue would win four games, red would win three games, and blue would win the series, so we say that blue has the home-field advantage. However, suppose that the first game is played at blue's venue and the visiting red team wins. Red now has one win, and there are three games remaining at each venue. If the home team wins each of the remaining games, then red will have won four games, while blue will have won three. Since red would win the series in such a scenario, it is said that red has taken home-field advantage away from blue.
like i said if the lakers win all the remaining games in staples center they would have won using home court ... the objective in home court is winning it all on your court ... it is the same thing if la had won the first 2 at home and lost all 3 in boston ... they would still have home courtComment -

If boston won game 1 at LA...THEY TOOK AWAY THE LAKERS HOME COURT ADVANTAGE

LOL @ kobe having one 40 point game and you think that matters. So Kobe will most definitely score 10 less points. Take it off the boards. Lakers will be shut down in the same way they were this game -10 from kobe. You realize kobe was the only one scoring because the rest of the team was defensively shut down, right? They weren't all just "off".Comment -

#28Yeah, but the Celts basically already had the game locked up. The Lakers were never a threat at taking the lead, and kinda of a threat at maybe bringing the game down to one only in the final minute. If Rondo didn't commit so many turnovers, this game would be out of reach in the 3rd quarter, despite what Kobe was doing.Comment -

#29Just out of curiosity does anybody know the stats on NBA finals since they went to the 2-3-2 format. What I am curious about is how many times the team with homecourt advantage has trailed 3-2 then won games 6 & 7 at home to take it. Only one that comes to mind is 1994 Rockets over the Knicks. Would love to know that. Also historically have the Lakers ever had an opponent clinch on the Lakers home court in the finals? Would appreciate any info on this.Comment -
