#8757The difference between starting the season on a positive note (5-5 +0.73 units) and a horrible one (see above) was the hook in the Kings game. -2.5 and they won by 2 points. Was very confident in this play although I didn't expect Lawson to be playing. Regardless it looks like I'll be playing catch up for now...Comment -

#8758It's fine, no dramas. Your right on the Memphis under, I lost track of the game after 3Q time (as I was trading on 3 different games), but I had it mentally marked down as cashed, and cannot believe they put on a 65 point final quarter. I forgot to check the final box score. Sorry about the bad day, it won't last long, I have 100% faith in my knowledge and handicapping technique.Comment -

#8760No I hate NBL (ever since they kicked the Kings out). But I am playing the Netball this afternoon. Left it a bit late to post as was so focused on NBA, but for those that are interested I'm playing 1* NZ -30.5 $1.90 Sportingbet (I got it at 29.5, but 30.5 is fine too, NZ going to demolish the Africans today). Game starts in 40 minutes...Comment -

Warriors @Clippers
So many people always trying to “out sharp” each other. Lakers smashed the Clippers and then Warriors smashed the Lakers, so therefore Warriors should also beat (or at least cover) against the Clippers, right? Oh, it seems far too easy so I’ll just do the exact opposite thing (basically what Lakerboy does every single play).
Well if you were just basing a potential Warriors play on the above stated triangle with the Lakers and Clippers, then that would probably be long term –ev play.
Personally I was considering this play as soon as the initial line was released and the fact that the Warrior splayed so well and the Clippers so poor and we can still get a bunch of points on the Warriors is just a bonus.
I like how the Warriors match up with the Clippers as an overall unit. Sure Lee can’t really stop Griffen (would be worse if Blake actually had a strong low post game) and Curry can’t really stop Paul, but both Lee and Curry can also get their own, and let’s not forget the Warrior’s now have Iggy, who can stop just about anyone from 1-3 and some 4’s. All the Clippers can answer with is Matt Barnes haha.
Anyway not a big write up, I think the Clippers still have a lot more work to do than the Warriors, and they will most definitely get there (potential to be great), but they are not there yet (as was evidenced through much of the pre-season, not just based on yesterday’s game). The Warriors have done nothing much other than adding the ultimate “team guy”who could fit in anywhere. They have hit the ground running and I love them as a dog here…

#8766Got a cheeky prop bet for today…
Knicks @ Bulls
1.5* Boozer-6.5 (points & rebounds) vs. Chandler ($1.87/-115 Sportingbet)
Chandler will have his hands full getting stats against Noah, who is a strong rebounder and an excellent defender in the post where Chandler gets his points. I think the rebounding match-up will be a wash, with Noah taking boards away from both Chandler & Boozer – maybe Chandler wins the rebounds by 1-2 boards, however Boozer is comfortably a 10+ ppg better scoring option than Chandler at the moment. Boozer coming off 24 & 31 last 2 games, whereas Chandler is coming off 10 and 4 point games and life won’t get any easier for him today against Noah. Conversely who is going to guard Boozer effectively for the Knicks? Chandler facing a strong defensive option. Boozer facing... Carmello? Barganani? A'mare? No elite defenders at PF for the Knicks.Comment -

#8780Ok well a very poor start to the NBA season, however no need to panic yet. It's only 3 days into a very long season and as always I have faith in my own ability to get things back on track (especially in NBA where I put in so much work).

One play so far for tomorrow. them back in the game
OKC @ Minnesota
2* T-Wolves -2 (-107, $1.93 Pinnacle)
No Harden, No Westbrook, and (by far) the NBA's worst starting centre and suddenly OKC don't seem that scary any more. Minny with a deep strong 4 guard rotation and the two skilled big men in Love and Petkovic, gives the Wolves advantages at every position except of course SF, however Brewer was picked up to guard exactly these types of players (Durant, Carmello, etc) and he can at least make life difficult for Durant with his athleticism and solid perimeter defence. Wolves looked really good 1st half against the Magic before getting lazy and letting them back in the game the other night. Highly unlikely they will make the same mistake against the Thunder.Comment -

#8785Really liking that play. My thunder will struggle 'till Westbrook comes back which will not only mean, well, 23-5-8 or something like that, but also that we have a decent 6th man in Reggie Jackson. I'm not seeing Lamb stepping up right now like most people (he and Perry Jones are basically rookies) and Ibaka's he's still struggling when you ask him to do more than taking jumpers or finishing around the rim. This said, against a big frontcourt and an overall good team like the Wolves I feel like they can win here no doubt.
edit: Also playing the Cavs again who in my mind have everything to challenge for a 5th spot in the conference if they remain healty all year long and are playing a team that has basically a starting 5 and Ramon Sessions.Comment
