Sportsbook Review Forum
you could swing with all your might a pillow-case loaded with a half-dozen full cans of Fosters, and hit Diego Sanchez flush on the noggin, say 5 or 6 times and the dude'll keep standing and fighting back (that's basically the story of the Melendez-Sanchez fight)...most amazing combination of chin/heart i've EVER seen
...only thing to compare it with was how ClayGuida took all sorts of dead-on Sanchez fists, elbows, and knees in their fight a few years ago...until last night the best three-round war i'd ever seen...so Sanchez has been in easily two of the greatest damage-filled fights ever recorded...
Sanchez, ClayGuida, Korean Zombie, and Frankie Edgar have shown repeatedly over a whole pile of fights that they are the Energizer Bunnies from hell...remind me of the old tag-line for Timex watches...they "take a lickin'...and still keep tickin'"
the last two numbered UFC's were exceptionally good...Bones-Gustafson at 165 and Cain-JDS at 166 also outstanding wars...but a video of yesterday's Sanchez-Melendez bout is something extra-special to put into an MMA "time capsule"
Does anyone feel there's value on either the Perth Wildcats at $3 or NZ at $5 to win the NBL?

Not the Wildcats.
Perth lad and Wildcats member, but they have looked pretty poor this year. Disclaimer: It is hard with NBL to actually know where the rest of the league is at. It is so hard to follow the pre-season moves.
Wildcats don't actually have a fit centre at the moment (Knight is always injured and Jervis is hopeless) and they've been getting smashed on the boards. Then, they only have two blokes who look capable of making an open jump shot (Ennis and Redhage).
Beal from Vanderbilt has looked awful (0/9 on Sunday, 2/11 on Friday and about the same in the first game of season). Martin is starting to look old. Never rated Wagstaff, then you have Hire, Drake and Burdon, who are all below average. That being said, Ennis can win games without any help.
I think a fit 36ers team will challenge Perth.

I've been pretty impressed with Jervis. Sure he doesn't have a great offensive game but he's done alright on the glass and scored a few buckets.
Matty Knight comes back it's a different story.
Beal is really battling, I would be really surprised if he lasts the season.
Ennis however is the best player in the league and has shown a ability to get to the rim at will as well as a decent outside shot.
Before the season started I thought Perth were a chance to finally miss the playoffs but after seeing Ennis i've changed my opinion on that.
I was huge on the 36ers before the season started and I still am. Finally got a decent coach, one of the best back courts in Gibson and Ervin, one of the best bigs in the league in DJ and a painful but useful at times center in Schenscher. Throw in Cadee, Creek, Frye, BJ anthony and they have some of the best depth in the league too.
Similar story for the Taipans..Really good depth this year.
That $3 on Perth is way too short and I wouldn't touch the Breakers because i'm not convinced they make the top 4.

Hmmm you confident on this wager even with heinrich, noah and butler all out for the bulls?? I'm on the same side as you but not sure if the bulls will get up in a pre season game with so many missing. Who can play point guard while rose is on the bench tonight?

Hawley, good analysis as always. I'm still on the Cats going to struggle boat, but as I said before, I haven't really evaluated where all the other teams are at yet. BUT, if the Cats are actually good... then that isn't great for the NBL.
At least it makes for a more even league. The last seasons with Cats/Breakers and the rest has been a bit boring. I am hating the new reffing though.... but after a few weeks should make for more exciting ball.
Agree completely with what you say about 36ers. They would have beaten Cats if they were fit.
The problem with Matty Knight is that he can't stay fit and there is no real scoring back up. Jervis is OK on D, but he's too slow and I don't think he has great b-ball smarts.
I can't find a market for MVP, but pre-season Ennis was $5.50 I think... should have picked that up.

Looking good Sando!
Tough break on Mundine fight... Boxing clearly dead in Australia.
Edit: nice hit sando. didn't even check the score - didn't bet it!

Centrebet is posting it weekly which I was impressed with.
Ennis into $4. Disappointed I passed it on after his preseason form.

Take a look at Pacers today. Coach Vogel said he will be treating this game like regular season in terms of minutes and bench players who will play. Hawks Coach seems to care less about these games. He had a line up of PG Teague, Reserve Rookie PG Schroeder, Reserve SF Mike Scott, PF Horford, Rookie C Pero Antic in late 4Q of close game vs Memphis last outing. Hawks PF Paul Milsap was ruled out for this game. The much older, less talented Brand will fill in. Hawks are 1-4 in preseason with lone win vs lowly Bobcats by 2. Hawks Coach trying to implement completely new offense/defense in preseason. Pacers obviously are all set in those two areas.

Dallas -6.5 (v Hawks) *Hawks with no Horford or Milsap, and they have been trashed in 3 of last 4 pre-season. There is every indication Dallas will continue to play their starters as they seek to add cohesion and chemistry with this new back court.

Malawi @ NZ
1* Over 102.5 ($1.90 Sportingbet) Malawi play slow. NZ play fast. NZ the vastly superior team against an under strength Malawi outfit and being at home will certainly dictate the pace of the game. Malawi coming off two games against the Aussies that both cruised over the 100 mark.

If you like that you can get -31.5 at Sportsbet/IAS. I was leaning towards Malawi after 2nd test against Aussies, however our resident Netball expert @Rabbitbrew is leaning towards NZ ATS. Malawi missing a bunch of senior players because of bullshit politics in Africa so the Silver Ferns probably the safer play...

Rugby League World Cup Italy v Wales 2* Italy -4 ($1.90 Pinnacle) Line won’t last! (Projected starting line is Italy -6) Welsh squad with 8 Super League players, 1 NRL player and a handfulof lower tier Euro league players, against an “Italian” team (2 players were actually born in Italy) that is stacked with NRL and NSW cup players, as well as Super League and also lower tier Euro league players. Two genuine guns on this Italian squad in A. Minichiello and Snowden, and plenty of middle tier NRL level talent in Guerra, Tedesco, Laffranchi (now Super League), Reithmuller and big Minichiello. Italy beat rugby league mad Lebanon to reach the World Cup and did so without their NRL players. Wales (like all Welsh teams) look to be bigger and stronger, with an impressive and formidable pack, but Italy look to have the edge right through the backs and particularly the ¾ line, and hence an edge in class and skill.
Oh yeah I should probably mention that Italy just beat powerhouse England last weekend (15-14) in a trial match…

Sorry lads lost by the hook (102 points total) my favourite way to lose. A combined shooting percentage of 81.5% sure didn't help considering we fell 1 goal short.
