I normally love it when a playoff team from last year gets to play the team that knocked them out early in the next season, so by that thinking, Boston should be a play tonight. However, on opening night after the Heat won their first championship, they got destroyed by the Bulls 108-66, making it the worst loss by a defending champ in their opener in NBA history. I feel like that's got to be on the minds of the Heat tonight to a certain extent.

Good luck this season Dex. Keep your head up. Variance always strikes back so you'll get these rolls sooner or later. Hopefully sooner but either way, in the end, just know you'll end up on top as long as you manage your BR and emotions.

decided to turn the game on when i see the lead was cut to 113-107.

get to watch a 7-0 heat run to end the game....great start to the season.

Certain teams show strong tendencies towards fast starts, but "home teams" is way too general of a filter to experiment with. You can find split stats from previous seasons a few places but I'd focus generally on good teams in the 1Q/3Q to start.

Brooklyn - thats where i live. i am not a diehard fan of any team other then the mets. in hoops i always leaned more towards the nets because i used to go to their games all the time. was easier to get tickets at the meadowlands then msg back in the day when i wanted to see jordan, wilkins, barkley etc....

funny i saw this thread today, as i just received my pro basketball prospectus 2012-2013...

it analyzes schedule for each team...

every team but utah has a 4 game in 5 nights stretch. the range is from 1 to 4 times. no real pattern as to which teams. maybe teams that aren't that close to alot of other teams (minnesota and denver) or maybe not.

and i think 3 games in 4 nights. it ranged from 6 or 7 times to 13 or 14 timea, seems like alot of times. i assume the 3 games in 4 nights is a subset of 4 games in 5 nights for some of the cases . i'll look at one of the heavy teams to point out games.

i wish someone could break these down to the actual games. also first game back from a long road trip (i love the pshchology behind this angle - players finally realizing they are tired out, lots of issues to deal with at home etc.). how has it performed? i realize it is a strategy that has been widely touted.
