WOw, Rosberg pulling out .5 secs per lap on Ricciardo. And Hulkenburg only other driver within a second of Rosberg.

Looking at replay of Kobayashi hitting Button on first corner... Looks to me like the Catherham front right wheel detached from the car under braking... before he hit Button or anything else.

Wonder how books grade the 1st car to retire with 3 cars not even making the start.

They all started in the end. Just 3 from pit lane.
First retirement will pay 50% on either Massa or Kobayashi at 5D

Even without the new cars and new engines there is often a first lap retirement first lap. ;-)

Only 14 cars left running. Would be sweating now if I had lashed out on the Over 13.5 finishers as I was thinking!

Solid race by dan, great to see! Already more successful at Albert park then webber! And magnussen seems a natural, bright future ahead.
Glad ad bottas got that 6th spot at the end, saved me from a bad race, managed 2 nuts profit for race weekend.
Wonder why the team didn't do as told when warned?!

Was going to mention that actually. It was Rosberg, but check out what lap he did it on! And how only Chilton and Button set their best lap on the final lap.
It looks like Rosberg, at least, was managing fuel for the last 2/3rds of the race.
And why did you get rid of the sector times Formula1.com??
And wasn't there a Gap to Leader column as well as Gap to Car Ahead last year too?

Thanks. Was going to ask you if he really had a chance to compete after testing. Will tail.

Almost went tonight. But friends opted for $400 seats and I didn't want to go that badly.
Fly up tomorrow and I'll watch from the cheaper ESPN fan deck with you if you like. ;-)

I'm thinking Daniel Ricciardo +125 for a Top 6 in the Malaysian GP this weekend might be worth pounding.
We are going to see a race a lot more about fuel this weekend. I think this will write off the Ferrari chances no matter how fast they can make the car go in quali. I doubt they will be able to push their pace at all during the race.
So he will be fighting with the 6 main Merc engined cars plus Vettel for a top 6.
The Red Bull showed in Melbourne that it's still the beast of the field in medium speed corners, making up for the massive top speed deficit they had. So I expect it will show the same if not better on the higher speed corners of Sepang given that has been RBRs traditional strength. Plus, RBR was the only car to show they were definitely fine for fuel economy in Melbourne.
Mercedes 'appeared' to be ok for fuel economy, although I have a sneaky suspicion Magnusen failing to press Ricciardo for the 2nd place at the end, after showing he had the speed in hand to do it for a few laps, means he might have had to turn the wick down in order to reach the checkers. Also as I mentioned above, there is some evidence Rosberg was managing fuel for the 2nd half of the race based on the fastest lap coming so early in race.
Given that Red Bull (Renault) also have a bunch of 'easy to find' performance still to come from the engine compared to Merc as well, I think +125 is awesome value for Ricciardo to finish ahead of the McLaren or the Williams cars again this week.

Havent really looked at Indycars. Hopefully MatI will pop in with the right bet.
Briscoe is with Chip Ganassi this year. No idea how strong they might be though.
You want to back Montoya? I kind of hope he dominates and gets to show how good he is again.

Yeah he comes across as a good bloke.
Seen a couple more stories about Ambrose driving for Penske next year in V8 Supercars. Starting to think it's near a done deal if Penske do hit the go button with a team in that series for 2015.

Hey guys, I dont really see the love for JPM. He has been out of open wheelers for 7 years, and out of Indycars for 14 years. I dont think he is going to re-adapt very easily or quickly. Im not saying he will be slow but I cant see him finding those last few tenths to compete for a win at least not straight away.
So having said that, for Indy I have taken:
Power to WIN @ 4.50 x0.5u
Helio @ 1.83 vs JPM x1u

For F1:
Hamilton to WIN @ 3.00 x2u
Rosberg to WN @ 3.40 (cover bet for above to push)
Massa Top 3 Finish @ 3.75 x0.5u
Bottas Top 3 Finish @ 3.75 x0.5u
That's it for the moment.
I dont see Red Bull being as competitive as they were in Melbourne. Magnussen had 36km/h advantage at times but couldnt find a way past. This wont be the case in Malaysia with those two huge straights.

Last year, when they finished the race 1st and 2nd, during P1 and P2 red bull were 7kph slower than the the fastest cars through the speed trap. This year they were 11kph slower.
Kravitz pointed out a bunch of times that red bull appear to be kinder to their tyres than the other front runners. Both Merc drivers in post practice interviews went on about how 'massive' the tyre degradation was.
Between closing the top speed gap, fuel efficiency, tyre wear and corner speed advantages I think the opposite of you about red bull. They should be way more competitive than Melbourne. I'd bet they show both the Williams and Maccas a clean pair of heels on race pace over the distance.
Pace that cant be used due to fuel and tyres won't be much use on Sunday.
