same jock/trainer that won the derby yesterday..like yesterday's winner this one has never raced over a mile (1 3/16 today)..euro bloodlines and bred to do it better than most american pedigrees..yesterday's admittedly competed against better company at home but this one came in 3rd in a 21 horse field at ascot last out..think will be lower

won 2nd off a short layoff following a very similar running line back in november..contested a very fast pace last race..trainer has excellent numbers in applicable categories and does very well with the jockey

an expensive yearling purchase and first time gelding making his 5th career start.. off slow and 4th of 11, on the dirt last race (turf today).. behind a very slow pace two back at fairgrounds (turf) and broke bad also (admittedly the bad breaking isn't good **).. three back (2nd career) is the key for me.. breaking your maiden vs specials at churchill in october as a 2yo shows you have some talent..one further back in his debut breaking from the rail at a mile at churchill (a difficult assignment.. 1 turn there) finished 3rd of 8 while being very wide on the turn.. this race was scheduled for the turf.. trainer having a nice meet with a limited amount of starters.. i think this ml is high and even if I'm wrong like this one at a price..

** maybe first time gelding will help with that

assuming he gets a fast track today it will be first time in a while that it will come together with right class level.. distance might be a little short but I like his race at churchill 4 back enough to try and overcome that.. perennial bad jock brought home a $79 winner yesterday..maybe catch lightning in a bottle again

another ridiculously deep 2yo msw field but sticking to my guns on the expensive relative angle this would be the one.. a firster with saez riding.. trainer excellent investment on the turf.. "unbridled's song" one of the best broodmare sires there is
