Do not place any wagers on teams unless you are sure your team is the dog or favorite. The team underlined and highlighted blue is the team we are betting on, regardless of v1 or v2. If you play the closer line games too early, you may be overpaying for a loss if you play the P/L and should have been on the M/L, or lose a game that you would have won had you been on the (+1½) instead of the M/L. We will always play the M/L on favorites and games when the line is (-110/-110) or (-105/-105), and always play the (+1½) if the team we are betting on is a dog. ALL results will be based on this principle. If it is a close line game, you may want to wait til closer to game time to place your wager so you know whether or not we are on the (+1½) or the (M/L). #3979Wallco, question about your backtest:
In 2011-12, you list Montreal as having a v2 series loss. Their only 6-game losing streak that season started in game 3, which would have been ignored in your system (since you start at game 4). They lost games 4 (lost as fave), 5 (lost by 2 as dog), & 6 (lost by 2 as dog) of the year, qualifying them as a play. Then they lost the A & B bets, but they won the C game outright (they covered M/L or +1.5 either way).
So, am I missing something or did you inadvertently include game 3 in their qualifying series?
Thanks.Comment -

Okay, I see that difference in the rules (overlooked it, my bad). However - WHY would you make that kind of distinction? Is there something fundamentally different between winning the first 3 or losing the first 2 games of the season? It seems rather arbitrary.
You don't make a distinction anywhere in posts 2446 or 2447 about backtests versus live play (ie which seasons are which). The only thing you say is "Below is a backtest through the 2005-06 season". How is anyone supposed to know?Comment -

What about Toronto 2009-10 and Nashville 2007-08? Is there a reason those "starting in game 3" series are not listed as losses in your backtest?
Even without those though, bumping Montreal to a game 4 start yields a C-bet win. Bumping everything else to a game 4 start knocks out 8 A-bet wins (because they are no longer qualifying series). So, you lose 8 units, but you gain back 19.6 units on Montreal. (Plus, both of Toronto & Nashville would have been C-bet wins, so that's 2 more units to the positive.)Comment -

#199 Resumes v1 (B) on 3/21/14
#200 Tampa Bay @ Toronto (M/L) v1 (A) (7:05 pm EST)
#201 St. Louis @ Chicago (M/L) v1 (A) (8:05 pm EST)
All lines and standings are based on FINAL lines from ScoresandOdds.com/. If one of the teams we are playing switches from a favorite to a dog, or vice versa, after my initial post, make sure you get the appropriate line if it differs from what I have posted. The wins and losses will be based on who is the dog team on ScoresandOdds.com/ final lines.
System rules and backtest can be found in posts #2446 & #2447.Last edited by Wallco99; 03-19-14, 08:40 AM.Comment -
