#1860thought for sure I'd hit the Over with the quick start by philly, figured the Caps would put in more than a goal... won the ML though and should have gone with that trend and lean I had of the PL but oh well. A somehwhat disappointing 1-1 tonight but it could be worse. Hopefully the rest of the night goes better.
Good to see that I got a W from a trend on my spreadsheet though!Comment -

ended day at 2-1-1....better than losing

#1866Huck, I didn't see the Philly game but you said every one was on the OVER, I looked but couldn't find what you saw, end result... A LOSS. Its one of the best betting rules out there, the success is uncanny but it needs to be unanimous or overwhelming tilted to one side. And then FADE IT, and cash out.
Earlier this week I cashed on BUFF and FLA ML's based only on this rule.Comment -

#1867Meh Ducks were also unanimous + Habs and they both covered PL easy, the only 'lock' that blew today was philly/wash over which statistically speaking was the best play of the day, so 2/3 on expected outcomes today isn't bad. I think it's more anecdotal, we tend to obsess on a major upset as opposed to the others that go as plannedComment -

#1876Official Picks 2/27/13:
Capitals @ Flyers, Flyers ML (-145) - teams on the second leg of a B2B coming off a home win are 4-12 on the road in the second game. out of those 12 losses, 9 have come by two goals or more. The Capitals are 1-1 in the second leg of a B2B but are 0-1 on the road. I like the Flyers to take this one. Odds are in their favor and they are at home. Think they will be motivated as they do not want to go 1-3 in their four-game home stand. Also, though the Capitals have been playing better lately, they are only 2-6 on the road.
Captials @ Flyers, Over 5.5 (-130) - The last 5 Flyers games have gone Over. Three of the last 6 Capitals games have gone Over. The Capitals have only had one road game all year stay under 5 goals and have gone over 5 goals four out of eight games. Also, the Over is 20-8-3 in their last 31 matchups. I think this will be a high scoring match.
Predators @ Ducks, Ducks ML (-130) - Think this is pretty good value here. Ducks are 6-1 at home, including their last 6. They beat the Predators there earlier in the season when it was the 2nd leg of a B2B. Think they will beat them here with a days rest. The Preds have been playing somewhat poor as of late, losing 4 of their last 6 including their last 3 road games. I like the Ducks at home here against a struggling Predators team.
Predators @ Ducks, Over 5 (+105) - Not as confident in this one as I am the Ducks pick but I do like the odds here at +105. Ducks are one of the highest scoring teams in the league while the Predators have been a mess on Defense lately, giving up 8 goals in their last 2 games. The Preds have also given up 10 goals in their last two road games. Liking the Over.
Redwings @ Kings, Kings PL (+200) - Quite a bit of juice on the ML for the Kings, but a nice payout on the PL which has gone 4-0 in their last 4 games. Kings are playing extremely well as of late and I look for this to continue against the Red Wings. Red Wings are coming off 2 straight wins but have only won 2 games on the road all year. I like the hot team here.
Redwings @ Kings, Over 5 (-115) - Kings have scored 23 over their last 7 while the Redwings have scored 12 in their last 2. Kings have been solid on Defense but with a Detroit team that has scored quite a few goals lately I like the Over here for at least a Push.
Don't like betting the Flyers, but screw it... taking them hereComment -

#1878Here is the updated spreadsheet, as always one is by team and the other by date. The two games tonight with teams on the 2nd leg of a BTB are the Leafs @ Islanders and the Redwings @ Sharks (highlighted in red). I have outlined the significant boxes pertaining to each game in each team's colors (blue for leafs and red for redwings). I'll post early leans in a few

#1879First lean:
Maple Leafs @ Islanders, Maple Leafs ML (+115) - Believe it or not I actually like the Leafs here on the 2nd leg of a B2B. They are 1-2 on the second leg but their one win was after a home loss. They also played a good Montreal team close into the 3rd period and missed on some opportunities to score. The Leafs are 8-4 on the road while the Islanders are 2-8 at home. Reimer should be back in net for the Leafs and I think they revenge the let-down loss from last night against a subpar team. EDIT** didn't realize this will be the Leafs 3rd game in 4 days... up in the air on this.
Maple Leafs @ Islanders, Over 5.5 (even) - Reimer should be back in goal tonight for the Leafs but he has been out a while and could be rusty, plus the Leafs are going to be a bit tired from last night. 4 out of the Islanders last 5 home games have gone Over while the last two Toronto games have gone over and 2 of their last 3 road games have gone Over. Also, out of the Leafs back end of B2B games, 2 of 3 have hit the Over. I'm going with the Over tonight.Comment -

#1880Second Lean:
Oilers @ Stars, Oilers ML (+130) - Stars are playing their 3rd game in 4 days, the last two of which went into overtime. Oilers are coming off a tough loss at the Blackhawks but played extremely well in that game. I think this will be a let-down spot for the Stars. The Stars also just traded their team leading points leader and will be getting Ryder, but I think it will take a few games for the chemistry to form. Stars have lost their last 2-3 at home and don't have a great home-ice advantage. The Oilers have had two days rest and will be getting Hall back from a 2 game suspension. I like the Oilers here.
Oilers @ Stars, Under 5 (+115) - I know the 6 of the last 7 Stars games have hit the Over, but all those have been without Lehtonen in net. Only 3 Oilers games have gone Over 5 goals all season (including 12 of the last 13), only one of those coming on the road. The Oilers just held the Blackhawks to 3 goals and I think will lock down on Dallas tonight. I think the Stars will be tired and will have trouble scoring while the Oilers just aren't a great scoring team at all. I'm liking the Under.Comment -

#1882Third and final lean:
Penguins @ Hurricanes, Penguins PL (+210) - The Pens have the 3rd best PP in the league, the Canes have the 6th worst PPK in the league. The Pens have been playing well lately and I think they look to comeback strong against the Canes. Pens are 8-3 on the road while the Canes are 3-4 at home. 9 of the last 10 wins for the Pens have been by 2 goals or more. If you think they will win, odds are it will be by 2 or more. I like them to win here against a somewhat banged up Canes team.
Penguins @ Hurricanes, Over 5.5 (-120) - Again, one of the best PP teams vs a subpar PPK team. Canes have actually been solid on the Penalty Kill in the last 5 games (allowing only one goal) but the Pens have had at least one PP goal in their last 12 games and I expect at least one tonight. Pens have scored 21 goals in the last 5 games while the Canes have allowed 17 goals in their last 5 games. Pens have also allowed 16 goals in the last 5 games. I like this one to go Over.Comment -

#1886Picks for 2/28/13:
Senators @ Bruins, Under 5 (even) - I'm replacing the Leafs/Islanders ML pick with this one since I couldn't get a good feel for that one. The Senators have had one game go over 5 goals in the last 10 games and that one game was the second leg of a B2B on the road against the Penguins. Also, the Senators have only had 4 games go over 5 goals all year, 3 of those games were on the second leg of a B2B. They are coming off of two days rest. The Senators have also had trouble scoring this year and they are going up against a very stingy Bruins D that has only given up 6 goals in the last 4 games. With two strong D's and only one strong O I'm taking the Under.
