#41Oregon is a finesse team built on quickness and speed. USC is the only team in the Pac 10 that can match them. For those who don't know Oregon has a huge disadvantage playing on grass.Comment -

#45Ya its gonig to be a monster shootout. I think Barkley is good enough to keep them in it. Barkley has been having an under the radar good season. I will probably just pass.
Yo houlihawk im in this gambling league with 20 college friends...ten picks a week u submit and then a game of the week everyone has to play thats worth 2 points for a win. Ive been crushing the game of the week but this week its Thursday night Wolfpack/seminoles. I mean do history tell me I have to take nc state with a good QB at home as a dog on ESPN on thurs? Or does the FSU team that WAXED miami show up? I hate this game, but I have to make a selection. Whatcha think player?
Oh and you playing Iowa this weekend? I dont think I cant pass it up."This is why my basketball intelligence is unmatched on this site. I'm sure there are better cappers but no one can tell you the strategies of most coaches before the game even starts "

might be the worst bet you could make. look at Oregon's 2nd half stats this year, and the stats from last years SC game. This is about Oregon's execution and the speed at which they do it VS USC's lack of defensive discipline. This may not show up a ton until the 2nd half when players start to fatigue both mentally and physically. I see oregon winning this game in the 3rd quarter.Comment -

#56Aparently there is very little, if any knowledge about Pac 10 Football in here. First, if you think that USC has a zero home field advantage, go to a game. You are dead wrong. Next, have any of you alleged experts checked the weather forcast? DO SO NOW PEOPLE. It is going to rain. Next, USC is very thin on defense, which means they run out of gas in the 2nd half. That means they get outscored big time.
For you guys who know little or nothing about the Pac 10, this is Oregon's chance to punch their ticket to the N.C. game. This is the toughest game Oregon has left on their schedule. They can beat you 19 different ways. USC is good, but Oregon is great. Oregon does not turn the ball over, and that is the ONLY way USC can hang with them in the 2nd half. Wagering on USC is a loser. Houlihan, I have no idea where you are coming from, but it sure as hell is not from the Pac 10.Comment -

#61If it seems to good to be true it probably is...I think USC is the play as well. Oregon won't run like lightning on the USC field like they can at home and it's not like they don't have the athletes to keep up. I can't see how you guys don't see 7pts as a gift. Oregon seems to always fall on their face when they have all the momentum in the world..why not this week?
Each to their own I suppose...although I'm salivating over Nebraska to bitch slap Mizzou on Sat...try to get it at -7 or buy the hook and watch it rain money (sorta) BOL2YA boys [and few girls]!!!Comment -

#65USC does not have nearly the team that they had two years ago, and Oregon has a much better team than they had two years ago. I would give USC a much bigger chance if they had a defense that was deeper, but they do not. This team gives up a lot of 4th quarter points. They lost to Stanford on the road, and Washington at home, on last second FG's. Now a loss to Stanford is completely understandable. USC played very well. The loss to Washington is totally unexplicable. USC has basically sucked this year at home, with one meaningless exception. Not only did they lose to Washington, but they beat Virginia by 3 whole points as a 20 point favorite. Everyone is basing this game on USC's performance against Cal, who is the worst away team in the Pac 10, with the exception of Washington State, who is the worst team in the Pac 10.
Now I am a USC grad and I would love to come back here next week and eat my words, but it simply is not going to happen. They are down to 73 scholarship players, many of them on offense. I think the ONLY chance USC has is if their defense ATTACKS Oregon's offense, and if USC's offensive line dominates Oregons undersize defensive line. That is a lot to ask of the USC defense, which is giving up an average of over 24 points per game.Comment -

Sharp post. USC Trojans graduate. Funny, I now know 2 strong conservatives on this site (you & Andy Wend) from Cali.
I agree with the writeup. Don't underestimate what the Kiffin's can do with less talent though. Last year they took the Vols into Bama and should have won. They also took the Vols to the Swamp against a good FLorida team and played the most respectable game the Vols has had in a long time with the Gators.
Kiffin's will have a good game plan in place and USC will come fired up and give Oregon a game for the 1H, but as you alluded to earlier in your post the lack of depth will start to show late in the 3Q. Oregon is likely to beat USC by 21 pts in the 4Q.Comment -
