#667Like I said probably within a few business days, because I would require another signature. That is why I dont really count it as my net worth/bank roll.Comment -

#668I'm referring to your entire bankroll. You said "my bankroll is my net worth". If you lost the bankroll you're referring to, how long would it take you to recoup it? 0-10 years? 10-20?Comment -

#672If you lost it, and then put all of your time into regaining it? Let's say you worked three jobs. You worked 18 hours a day, slept for four hours, and travelled/ate/whatever for the remaining two. Expenses were minimal. Could you do it in under 40 years? Yes or no is fine.Comment -

#674Ok. Well, that settles our bet then. The only remaining step is defining "losing your Kelly bankroll".
To make it simple for you, to lose your Kelly bankroll implies infinitely recurring negative utility. In layman's terms, a true Kelly bankroll cannot be regained through any means. None. Once you lose your Kelly bankroll, you cannot regain it.
Points plz.Comment -

If you tell me what your bankroll is in whatever variation of units you want to (including your car loan and whatever else you have on McMann, please specify if it's just car loan), and then tell me how many units you have on Sara McMann, and it's a full Kelly wager from your Kelly bankroll, you win. If you have $10000 with $5000 on McMann, you could say 10 units with 5 on McMann, or 55 units with 27.5 on McMann, or whatever. Do we have a bet?Comment -

Consider it a lesson on Kelly for only 150 points. Bargain I'd say.Comment -

#680I don't need it. A Kelly bankroll is unrecoverable by any means. The terms of the wager were: "...tell me how many units you have on Sara McMann, and it's a full Kelly wager from your Kelly bankroll, you win." You couldn't have been using your entire Kelly bankroll, because it is the sum of all of your obtainable assets, and is completely unrecoverable when lost. As per your post, you could regain what you define as your bankroll with time. Thus, you weren't making a Kelly wager using your Kelly bankroll.
Consider it a lesson on Kelly for only 150 points. Bargain I'd say.Comment -

#681Why would I take a bet like that if I weren't 100% sure I'd win? No one else on SBR would take that wager, because obviously they'd think they're missing something. When Nunya and I offered tbird +5000 on Shamhalaev against Pat Curran after the fight had taken place, it was because we thought someone was silly enough to accept the wager. I didn't even think you'd accept to be honest. You did, though.Comment -

#684Errr, yeah, you kind of did, Sider. You can't be making a full Kelly wager using your Kelly bankroll using the information you gave me. It's not possible.

#688I think you're lying. Anyway, per Ganchrow:
Sports betting and handicapping forum: discuss picks, odds, and predictions for upcoming games and results on latest bets.
A Kelly bankroll refers to the entirety of all one's assets (financial and otherwise), including all mortgageable and stealable assets, as well as the present value of the future stream of one's income. If losing everything implies infinitely negative utility then losing everything needs to be a fate as generally unfavorable as death.
Have a nice day, Sider.Comment -

I'm going out to dinner now; when I get back I expect to have 150 points extra. If not, you're clearly a welsh. There's literally no argument that can be made that you didn't lose this wager.

Somehow losing a full kelly wager, and recovering your BR makes the previous wager not a fully kelly wager.Comment
