Holy blast from the bast Batman! This band brings back so many good memories. My mind was instantly flooded with Shoe Gazer brit pop bands and 90's American indie bands. I also remembered female singers such as Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance, Elizabeth Fraser (Jeff Buckleys girlfriend) from Cocteau Twins/This Mortal Coil/Massive Attack, Harriet Wheeler from The Sundays and Hope Sandoval (solo/The Jesus And Mary Chain). Reading these posts has put me on a trip through memory lane.

All the Artists mentioned by everyone are great. It just depends on what kind of mood your in or where you are in your life. I listen to everything from Billie Holiday to Ferry Corsten and everything in between. Pretty much all genres except R & B and sh*t played on top 40 radio. If you like Mimicking Birds you might like Mumford & Sons. Maybe even the Band Lucero they sing a song called Nights Like These.

Ghost writer for John Legend. I like John Legend. I guess what I meant by R & B is all the baby, baby BS they play on top 40 radio. I'm sure there are R & B songs out there that I would like. I just don't go out of my way to find them. I like music more like 80's New Wave, 90's Indie Pop/Rock, etc. Actually I like Beach House now that I've listened to some of their songs.

Yes back in either 2003 or 2004. I can't remember exactly when. Arcade Fire, Beirut, Curve, The Strokes, The Stranglers, White Stripes etc. Too many to name. All bands I listened to in the early/mid 2000's. I still listen to everything in my collection (constant rotation). They remind me a little of Joy Division which is one of my favorite bands.

Appears that one of the two brothers responsible for the Boston Marathon Bombings was a potential Olympic boxer and trained at Wai Kru gym in Boston (where Doomsday Howard trains)...check out page 18 of this...

he perpetrators were identified as two brothers, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, who were born in Chechnya, and reportedly came to the USA around a decade ago.
Late Thursday night the pair robbed a 7-11 in Cambridge, Mass. An MIT police officer responded to the disturbance and was shot dead. The pair then carjacked a Mercedes, holding the driver for 30 minutes before releasing him.
Police cornered the pair in neighboring Watertown, Mass. following a chase that included bombs being tthrown by the pair in a failed attempt to thwart the policce. The older brother was killed, reportedly after being shot, run over by his brother, and according to doctors also suffered injuries consistent with a explosives detonation. A second police officer was shot in Watertown, and is in critical condition.
The older brother's YouTube profile carries videos by controversial Islamic preacher Feiz Mohammad. The preacher, a former boxer, is of Lebanese origin, and was born in Sydney, Australia. Mohammad fled to Lebanon and has lived in hiding there since 2005.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev trained as a boxer at well-known fight gym Wai Kru. CNN reports that he trained in MMA are false. UGers who trained with him said he boxed only, and the information is backed up by quotes from the blog, which refer to kicking as 'dirty'.
A photo blog called Will Box for Passport, by Johannes Hirn, offers a gallery of Tsarnaev training at Wai Kru.

Echo & The Bunnymen - Bring On The Dancing Horses & The Cutter. The Kills - What New York Used To Be. The Postal Service - Such Great Heights. Twilight Singers - Teenage Wristband & Powder Burns. Wild Palms - To The Lighthouse. Pete Yorn - Life On A Chain. Without knowing you it's difficult to know what to suggest. Hopefully you like at least one of the suggestions.
