Rewatch the Macdonald vs Woodley fight. A world champion does not fight like that. Wonderboy similar in strategy to Macdonald.

I like your Thompson, Jedrzejczyk, Romero, Nurmagovedov, Muhammad plays.. Not sure Miller time gets it done against Pitbull Alves, Alves looked in great shape at weigh ins also, I also don't think Pennington beats up Meisha either..
GL though Unwritten with this event!!!

If winning on Thompson, i will play Alvarez. Usually when everybody is on one fighter, that smells trouble. Because "people" are often wrong. Mcregor is also the one with a hole in his game. And i do think that alvarez boxing + wrestling will tire mcregor. When nate diaz just kept his hands up, he never was in any real danger throughout the fight. Conor is very good at counter people, but if you give him things to think about like combos, movement, he doesnt have any answer for it. I do think people overvalue his chances of getting the KO a bit. If he cant KO diaz, and dropping him twice, im not so sure he can KO Alvarez who despite being dropped every fight, hasnt been tkoed since 2007. I think both diaz and alvarez secret is that their stubborn. Their fighters who started from street where their pride themselves not quitting. Alvarez has been on queer street multiple times during a fight, and still come back. That tells you a lot of things about alvarez, that he is; Stubborn, experienced in taking huge shots in fights and that he has great cardio.

Going in this fight, McGregor will look and pick his shots. He does not absolutely want to gas at all cost. You see when he knocked Diaz down, he didn't follow up with a flurry. He pretty much allowed Diaz to get back up each time. Don't think Alvarez will try to take McGregor down early, but he will certainly make this a Couture-type dirty boxing and grinding up against the fence. Once he sense McGregor gassing, that's when he will shoot in for the single/double leg for GNP.

Coming off a bad loss and neck surgery, there are too many question marks with Weidman for me to back him right now.

Interesting theory, only problem with that is it's hard to get McGregor pinned against the cage and grind on him... McIrish fights at distance and moves very well.. Very hard to grind on McGregor early on in the fight when he is fresh I think..
Last I checked Eddie isn't a grinding type of fighter or wrestling based fighter either.. Eddie is primarily a stand up fighter and that is his strengths going into every fight.. He leans heavy on his boxing and punching power.. That's why most of Eddies wins come by KO..
Now when he fought Pettis and RDA whom are both elite based strikers he didn't go into wrestling mode or grind mode, he stood and fought them standing and straight up.. So I don't see Eddie changing up his entire fighting style when facing McGregor either..
Stranger things could happen and I have been wrong before though... I will say this though - Eddie will swarm and finish fighters in a hurry if he rocks them standing.. That is one of his strengths for sure..

I would say he definitely grinded Pettis up against the cage

Maybe.... Pettis kept kicking high and was easy to take down or grind on at times..
Eddie fought Cowboy and Cowboy kept his kicks low and was not grinded on by Eddie.. He busted up Eddie round after round standing and striking at distance... McGregor will do the same..

And while alvarez isnt cardiocain he doest fight very good being tired. I believe Mcgregor was a tad bit lucky that diaz did tire so hard as he did. I dont think that fight was representative for diaz cardio. Still, conor was completely gassed, although he did fight through it.
Alvarez will def push mcgregor if he can survive early, and that will be a problem for conor, especially as he can be controlled with grappling. Thats two huge problems already there, and those to elements, should alone, have alvarez the favourite. Its amazing conor still after the two last fights, theoretically should have been the underdog, clearly, yet opens as a favourite.
