MD will never leave. SBR is his life. Him along with all the rest of the riff raff would bicker about the same petty nonsense in another message board if they ever did leave. They would get bored with each other quick then turn on each other. Anyway I just finished listening to this interview of Brian Foster. He is fighting Jake Shields this Saturday in WSOF. The man is possessed! And primed to win!
Brian Foster starts at the 57:00 mark. Frankie Edgar starts at the 30:00 mark. Cheers!

That's legitimately disgusting.
So if he was paid $160,000 would he have took the fight serious and actually made weight?
IMO he is lucky that the UFC even gave him another shot after running his mouth for so long and complaining. Then he comes back and doesn't make weight and puts on one of the worst performances of his career.

Two incredible fights just announced; Wonderboy vs Thatch, Hendricks vs Brown (yes, Hendricks vs Brown, not Lawler.)

Yeah, he's "lucky" that the UFC can't cut him because he's too valuable. He has every right to complain, he's an independant contractor, and you're an idiot if you begrudge him that right. If he feels underpaid (and there is no debate about that, he's certainly being underpaid), then he should try to earn what he's worth.

brooks complained to his boss about his job at pizza hut and kept bragging about how much betpoints he had saved. he got fired.
How is the situation with Nate any different? he should be thankful he still has a job.

wasn't Thatch/Thompson always there as the co-main to Saffadine/Brown? now main with Saffadine being injured. Either way I'm glad they are not doing Hendrciks/Lawler 3, and I'm guessing that rumored MacDonald/Lombard match is not happening and they will soon announce Lawler/MacDonald for UFC 186 on April 25th in Montreal

How exactly is he so valuable? He fought 4 times in the last 2 years and lost 3 of them. The lightweight division is stacked and he has become expendable. He took a year off and complained about not making any money, meanwhile guys like Cerrone were begging to take any fight they could get.
In your expert opinion, how much should he have made for his last fight? Of course prior to knowing that he wasn't going to make weight and then putting on the performance that he did.

of course he won't leave, just like nunyah won't either. Dude has pizza to order with his betpoints. Funny watching them talk like ANYONE truly gives a flying fook if they left. Again, they won't tho. Be a fool to leave SBR.

Again: he is an independent contractor. If he is not happy with his pay, he is more than entitled to not fight. How do you have a problem with that?
As for how exactly he is so valuable, have you been following the MMA landscape recently? Nate Diaz is a headliner, they need headliners and co-main event fighters because they're putting on so many shows.
If you think his ability to draw is the sum of his win/loss record, ask yourself why he keeps getting main and co-main event spots. If your worth is decided by your win-loss record, why did 6-0 in the UFC Myles Jury make $16000 to co-main event one of the biggest cards in recent memory against a top five guy in the deepest weight class in MMA? Your argument is completely baseless (and ridiculous), and anyone who honestly believes that Nate Diaz got paid what he was worth is a moron.

So if he is an independent contractor, who signed the contract for the $16,000 deck that he was building? He's been in the game long enough to know how it works.
So how much should he have gotten paid?
The problem with Nate Diaz is that people have become more interested in his shock value rather than his fighting skill.

1) What are you even talking about? Having a UFC contract and having a bout agreement are not the same thing. Your analogy isn't even close to accurate.
2) More than $16K, that's for damn sure.
3) Yeah, again, those are the key words: "people" and "interested." Your value is not decided solely by your "fighting skill" or your win loss record, I don't see what's so hard to grasp about this.

I used to be a huge Diaz fan, but over the last couple years even I had lost interest in him. I would imagine I am not alone either.
He would have gotten paid more if he would have trained, made weight, showed up to fight and won. Not to mention it would have gave him a boost going into his next fight. He is almost damaged goods at this point.
Maybe these fighters complaining about pay should start taking their job seriously or find something else to do.

"Waaaah, I don't like Diaz, waaaaah, why won't he just fight for less than he's worth for my sake, waaaaah, why won't these fighters just stop complaining and put up with it, waaaaaaah."
How you as a fan feel about Nate Diaz has nothing to do with how much he should be paid. This is a guy's focking livelihood, if he didn't complain about getting grossly underpaid I'd call him an idiot. Stop acting like a child and get over yourself.

your logic is a joke. You clearly have a fan crush on Diaz. He is worth exactly what he got paid, and he is fortunate at that.

UFC brass told him during the contract negotiations that he could renegotiate at a latter time. End of story.

Actually it has everything to do with it, and you're the only one crying about how much money that he deserves.

That's it? My mom? She's basically worthless, so he pretty much got exactly what he deserved. Maybe next time he'll take his fight seriously and go for that 16K win bonus and my dad.

If Nate Diaz would have trained, made weight, and beat RDA, he would have made $40,000 and no one would be complaining about how much he made.
Hell he only won 30K when he beat Maynard in his last fight before that in 2013.
