Phil Hughes lasted only three-plus innings Tuesday, allowing three runs and six hits with four walks while throwing 87 pitches in a 5-2 loss at Kansas City.

What am I seeing here?

I am not a good capper, but I know how to read a stat sheet. In baseball, if you can read and use common sense, and not try to over-think these games....you can win.

Reading/analyzing stats = capping in my book, and you do it well.
Very true about overthinking plays, as most times that leads to putting players on tilt.
My heads bigger than it should be, but other than that, I just try to make myself and others a bit of coin. I may be a bit over-zealous but thats about it.

Monday April 14

Angels 1st 5 innings is the play. Yes, Santana has been murdered in Texas in his career. However, this is not the same Santana and his opponent is beyond comical...he's a tragedy. Jason Jennings has given up 4 HRs in 9 innings this year. And it's no fluke! Last year his ERA in 99 innings pitched was 6.45 and he allowed 1 HR every 5 innings. Meanwhile, this year Santana has allowed no homers and has 8 K's in 12 innings.

The Angles got their offense spun up yesterday and they will continue it today against the miserable Jennings. Santana finally slays his demons in Texas, and I'll jump out of the game before the Angels horrible pen can screw it up!

The play is Cinci/Chicago under 11 (-115).
-Reds have four total runs in their last three games.
-Chicago batting .243 vs righties and Harang is one of the best.
-Both pens are respectable enough to keep this low.
-Dempster has allowed FOUR total hits in 13 innings.
-Harang has fanned 15 already this year.

I don't see where the runs will come from to get this to 11. I will be surprised if it hits 8.
