In away games the Cards are 7-4 in Carpenter's starts.. He's given up 25 ER in 72.2 IP.. That roughly translates into 2 ER in 6.2 IP per away game.. There are no home stat's for Zimmerman as this is his first start in the Majors in a while but his last 5 games started in the Minors he went 3-2 while giving up 9 ER in 35.1 IP.. That roughly translates into 2 ER in 7 IP per game.. Both teams excel in this spot with the Cards at 15-6 in game 1's following a loss while Wash is 17-9 in game 1's following a loss.. In this situation on the season the Cards (away/after loss and vs right) have posted an average of 4 runs a game.. Wash under the same circumstances (home/after a loss and vs a right) have also averaged 4 runs per game.. So offensively the game is equal and if Zimmerman's numbers would've been his last 5 pitched in the Majors the pitching match up is equal.. I agree completely that this is an inflated coin flip at the price of -200

Well I hope the thread did. And hope people learn from their mistakes!
I've been a season ticket holder for the Nats since they came to DC. I agree with the first post on laying heavy chalk, especially in late August. What I do not agree with is the Nationals playing spoiler as the season ends. You can see it in the body language of some of the players that they can't wait for this year to be over. The team is 33-59 since mid-may and the bullpen has recently started to show the negative effects of the heavy innings pitched in the first half of the season. Clippard is especially cooked. JZimm getting the start tonight may be a one game spark but from here to the end of the season there will be many great ways to fade the NATS. I expect 2H and RLs bets against the Nats to be profitable when they are at home and 1H -.5 to be profitable on the road for all starters except Livo.

Your posts lately have been extremely insightful and well done. I hope you do not take exception to me coming in your thread and giving my 2 cents on the Nationals. Good luck with your bets!

I got stung a few times earlier this year with the phils and have laid off. They are underachieving this year and very inconsistent from game to game.

By all means continue to post your thoughts in my thread. Thats why I start these threads. The sharing of information is great! Thank you.
playing the pihllies the last 2 days killed my bankroll, look for tommorrow with good value in the white sox against the yankees. Burnett has been bad, definately a headcase and do not expect him to turn it around now. White Sox all the way tomorrow
Olsen is starting on Friday night for the Nationals. Since coming off the DL in late July he is 1-4 with an ERA over 7.50. I don't expect him to last long (5 innings) and then it will be up to the very shaky Nationals bullpen to finish the game. The STL ML, -1.5, and -2.5 are all pretty strong plays in my opinion.

Very nice write up. Thanks and hope you keep this going. The NL contenders CARDS-PHILS-BRAVES are like 1-12 in last few games. SF 4-8 in their last 12 and has taken the wild card lead. Looking forward to the Padres-Phils weekend series.
