I say no shot. I think he will limp to 720-730.

#17No i dont think so....took him 3 years to get 100, another lets say 4 years due to aging fr the next 100, that brings him to age 39 with another 63 to get...will be tight but i dont think soComment -

#19Seriously guys, how can he NOT break the record, barring injury? I can't imagine him not averaging 30 homers for the next 6 years, which is all it would take.Comment -

#20I'm a yankee fan. There is no way he is hitting 30 homers at age 41. I wouldnt be shocked if he never hit 30 again.Comment -

#22There is no way he will do it. With the injuries and no juice. He has a chance at 700, but that will even be tough. Think about this. Where would Griffey have been had he not been injured late in his career? A-rod is already on the way down.Comment -

#24Bonds did it with the juice now there is no more juice as far as we know. I dont see Arod getting 30 homers every year, thats a tough task. Yankees made the milestone bonus to help their brand before all the rods stuff came outComment -

#29I laugh at people who say no chance. He still has many years left and his power stroke is to right and right center and look at the park he plays in. I say he ends up with 780.Comment -

#30He will have to play a long time w/o injury to get there. No more 40 HR seasons left in his bat. 30 HR would be great, 20-25 is more realistic.
he needs six solid seasons of 25 HR to get in contention....pushing him to over 40 (?). He's no lock for the record.
If this was some kind of even money , long term credit bet....I'd take the NO side of it at +100 for huge money.....With any luck I'd be dead by the time the bet loses anyway !Comment -

A-Rod would probably DH for a minimal salary ( 1-2 M) in 2018 for whatever AL team sucks 7-8 years from now.
It becomes a game of longevity for him....even at 20 HR a year he gets there if he can play at 44 or so.
He can get there....and I think he wants it badly !
I retract my future on it !Comment -

25 is looking more like it these days, but he is up there in RBI"S.
He's still a great player, but those next 150+ homeruns won't come as quickly as #'s 450-600 came.
I guess you'd have to make him a favorite to get to 763.Comment -

#35exactly..just because he hti 30 last year doesnt mean hes gonna continue at that pace..how about the year before he hit 35...fact of the matter he is on the declining trend now...from 54 to 35 to 30 to 16 at the first week of august.Comment
