To everyone in LOVE with the Dodgers tonight.
I'm not saying LA is a bad play. They are pretty square here. BUT, there's no way they're worth a 55 unit play as I've seen in 1 post. There's really never a baseball game worth that type of play. Let's throw out all of the quantitative analysis on this one dating back to 2007. Ask yourself, why NOT bet the dodgers?

*SF is one of the hottest teams in baseball, scoring more runs than any other team in the month of July
*Lincecum has had his best stuff of the year the past two starts. He was throwing harder 2 starts ago in MIL hitting 95 consistently and had control of 3 plus pitches. He's all fairly well rested and didn't have to pitch long counts last start against the Mets
*The Dodgers have played with no heart, soul, ambition or sense of urgency lately. They are flat, watch the games. There are also no fans in the stadium despite the reported 45K SOLD and the huge Rivalry.
*The Dodgers have lost 5 straight
*The Dodger bullpen is bad this year, pretty darn bad. Broxton didn't pitch last night but he did throw over 40 pitches the night before
    *Manny is out
*Will probably take LA another game to adjust after the road trip and break
    *Buster Posey
*Pat Burrell (if you really are attached to your past history)

Bottom line, LA i playing bad. SF is playing good. SF has heart, LA does not.

LA may win, but don't bet the house on it.

Nope Dodgers are the play man. Kershaw at home is as good as any pitcher in the MLB. Just ask Ubaldo if you don't believe me.

I'm not arguing that. Nor am I arguing that it will be a 1 run, low scoring game. But which way does it go? Well, you can go with the home team. I'll take the team playing better baseball with more momentum and a better pen.

But, I won't be surprised either way. GL on your plays.

Sorry I missed the most important part. The two biggest pieces in the game that weren't factored into most people's analysis.

the important part in making a bet on lad (for someone that thinks long term that is) is the fact that sf hasnt won a game were Lincecum was a dog since before the all star break in 08....telling me oddsmakers have him pretty pegged, not to mention when they take a team that is hot as shit and make them a dog to a team that has lost 5 in a row odds are they like the cold teams chances...id say the way Lincecum got lit up would verify that they were still right, hell the guy had a pitch that didnt even get to the plate (whats up with that?)...yes LAD lost good call, but in that same spot i would side with the oddsmakers every time.....

I don't argue with any of this. You're spot on. I wasn't telling people to bet SF but, rather, to shy away from going big on the Dodgers. The oddsmakers don't do much with factoring in human emotions which was all I tried to point out. You lose long term by using this type of analysis in sports betting but it does show you, in some cases, when to stay away. I did bet the Giants 2X tonight but I don't necessarily supoort that bet. It was a homer pick.

True but that ball was crushed. Nothing was going near the wall in left field all night with that wind/weather in LA on Tues. Should have made the play 10 out of 10 times, but it was a great AB by Burrell.

i would never suggest going any bigger on one mlb game than another as the way to win is continually making sound picks not trying to get lucky as anything can happen in one game...you wont catch me betting 30 units or anything like some of these jackasses claim on any regular season mlb game.....this a grind not a get rich quick scheme.....
