#37[quote=DuncHen22;4107987]So I'm going to try this parlay tomorrow just with 1/2 a unit for fun, but I like all of them to win:
Parlay: NYY, STL, PHI +186 .53 units tw 1 unit
Good luck on this...hope it hits for you. I try once in a while but usually one team screws it up. Monday I had Det, STL, NYY and SF with Det being the lone loser. Maybe 3 teams will be the key.Comment -

#41Thanks!!
I guess I should have just bet the board though. 14 games yesterday, only 1 home loss (Toronto) and the Boston game was suspended.
I can't complain about 3-0 though. I may play more as the season goes on but it's still hard to tell which teams won't get swept. I had 6 teams on my sweepable list this week and all but one won their first game.
The the only possible plays for the next 2 days will be Toronto and Boston. I'll keep my eye out for those two teams and research a little more to see what I think.Comment -

#42Okay, I like Toronto's chances of winning one of their next two games with Tallet and Romero coming up. Both those pitchers are 1-0 while the Angels' Saunders and Santana are both 0-2. I think the Angels may take this series but I don't think Toronto will be swept.

#43-200 or Better Update:
Now that the start of the 4th round of series have begun I can give you an update on this idea I'm tracking.
Teams with winning odds of -200 or better during the first game of a series are now 8-0, after all 3 won their game on the 16th.Comment -

#45I'm thinking about Parlaying Boston and Toronto tomorrow (if Boston loses tonight, they're down 4-1 in the 6th). It would definitely be a good value bet as the line for it right now would is about +205 and both teams would be trying to stay unswept at home.
I see it as a much smarter bet than laying down 2.7 units to chase Toronto and 1.3 units to win a unit with Boston. That's 4 units to win 3. Alternatively, I could bet 1.5 units to win 3 if they both win. And if one or both lose, I'm only down 2.5 units on the weekend, instead of the potential 5 units I'd be down the other way.
My only worry is if the Boston game gets rained out... But apparently as long as the Jays still win it's played like a straight bet.
Talking through it right there, I just see that as the smarter thing to do.
I'll research the plays a bit more, but I'm liking it right now.Comment -

#47Also, just for fun. I'm trying out Snapsticks 10-0 MLB challenge, or whatever you want to call it. Basically, the idea is to start with $10 and play only underdog plays (+100 or higher) and bet it all each time (i.e. $10-->$20-->$40-->$80-->$160-->etc).
Do that 10 times with an average line of +110 and $10 turns into over $16,000!
Since I've never done it before and I don't want to take money out of this system I already got going, I'm just doing this one with points so I don't really care if I win or lose, but if I end up winning I'll get something cool from the SBR Store.
I'm posting mine here because I don't always agree with Snapstick's plays and instead of bothering him by posting my plays on his thread I thought I'd just post mine here.
I got up to 4 wins in a row and lost on a stupid play with the White Sox. Now I'm on my 2nd one and I've won 2 in a row.
So far:
1) 4/17 YANKEES -1.5 +105 $10-->$20.50
2) 4/17 PADRES -1.5 +150 $20.50 --> $51.25
Next play:
3) 4/18 PHI -1.5 +100 $51.25-->$102.50Comment -

#48It looks like neither Boston nor the Jays will be winning but that makes me feel vindicated a little bit for taking the parlay instead of a chase and win. I would have been in a deeper hole had I taken the other route, and I still think both calls were good.

#51Thanks!
So here is my "unsweepable" list for tomorrow, in order of strength:
1. LA Angels (vs Detriot)
2. Toronto (vs KC)
3. Seattle (vs Baltimore)
4. NY Mets (vs Cubs)
1. Tigers suck. Angels are hot. Enough said.
2. Royals are a weird bunch. I get nervous playing against them because they have some good starters, but they just don't have anyone in the 'pen to close out the games. They play really close for 5-6 innings but then crash. They can even score runs! I'm waiting for the 'pen to step up and the Royals start dominating. I don't think that'll happen too soon though, especially not against the HR-leading team at home, especially after that team got swept at home.
3. Mariners are starting to find their groove. Their defense is truly amazing and proving they were worth the money. I also like they play; taking it old-school and showing HRs are overrated. I don't see the Orioles sweeping them here at all.
4. Mets are my least favorite pick because they suck. But so do the Cubs. I most likely will not play this one tomorrow and just see if I can play their 2nd or 3rd game if they lose the first 1 or 2.
On Tuesday, I see some games I REALLY like:
1. Boston (vs Texas)
2. Minnesota (vs Cleveland)
1. I may play this one for extra units. Not blindly of course, I'll still check out the matchup first. But I just can't see how the Red Sox could get swept on two consecutive home series, especially when the second series is against the Rangers.
2. Cleveland is hot, coming off a home sweep against the White Sox, but I can't see them staying hot on the road, especially against the Twins. Minnesota is pumped for their new stadium and their 9-3 team. Now way they get swept by the Indians.Comment -

1) 4/18 STL -1.5 -110 $10-->$19.09
St. Louis is gonna be getting some revenge.
I know we're supposed to stay with + lines but I don't think going a little bit into the negative side is too bad. You just don't want to go too far that way because you're not getting much in return.
P.S. I also like this play:
1)4/18 STL/NYM Over 7.5 +100 $10-->$20
If only one of these plays wins I'll continue that one. If both win, I may combine them as if my streak was at 2. Or maybe I'll just have two streaks going. Who the hell knows? This is all in fun anyway and it's my thread and my points so I do what I want.Comment -

#53I guess I'm a bit slow but I just realized the Sox game is a 4-game series.
I'm contemplating playing it tomorrow. Lackey is solid and has a good record against the Rays. On the other hand, maybe the Sox just suck this year?Comment -

Pirates are on my "sweepable" list. That doesn't mean that I think they will be swept, but the potential is much higher with them than other teams. I wish I could call these home underdogs right now but it's too early in the season. Give it a few more weeks so we can get a good read on the matchups.
Yeah, I don't think anyone saw that sweep coming (Rays included). I'm more hesitant to play them against the Rangers now but they gotta win sometime, right?Comment -

#65Unless I feel strongly about Pittsburgh or Oakland winning in the next two days, I'm off until Friday since everyone else has remained unswept at home in these series. Friday is gonna be a big day, though, so get ready!
