Blue Jays +10,000 to win AL East

On oddsmakers.com, the toronto blue jays are 100-1 to win the AL east...and I still can't place the $5 minimum on it.

That's right, if the season were played out 100 times, the blue jays would STILL not win the division even once.

I tried this with the Orioles about 5 years ago, and they led the division until about mid-June before fading to last place, so the bet bought a couple of thrills.

I suppose without the heart and soul of their team anymore (Halladay) you never know, a team can band together since they haven't got their star to lean on anymore and surprise in that scrappy sort of way.

More likely though, they will go through long long losing streaks this season without that ace who can keep them in the game every 4th or 5th start and at least give them a chance to win.

We're not awful at all, but we won't win the division, It's not the most talented Jays team we've had but it's certainly not the worst roster we've had in the past few years...We'll start the season hot because we're a very driven and young team but we will fade and we'd be lucky to even sniff 3rd in the division let alone 4th.....
