I am wondering if we could somehow backtest A3...its doing superb this year, but I dont know of a site with the last 3 games whip...only season whip in the past...

impossible....you need to know the bullpen era rank that day as well.

at 16-2 now....no coincidence with this being the year of the pitcher. no way it was ever this good the last few years.

Not a nice idea. Padres are coming off a rare road series sweep. Whenever a team accomplishes something special, the law of averages takes effect thereafter. They'll lose their first game in Milwaukee.

it should be a close game. the +1.5 rl has too much juice for me, i just like san diego for too many reasons to expect a loss.
10-1 last 11.
8-3 last 10 meetings with brew crew.
Slightly better numbers for Leblanc in last 3 starts, but I really cant give a pitching edge to either team since recent opponents have been sub par at best (with the exception to san fran who are capable of beating decent teams)

Without giving a pitching edge i like the bats/overall play of sandiego, who are one of the most consistent teams in baseball right now, much better than that of the brewers

do what your gut tells you. He has some "sharp" observations, I'll agree. However, the pads are a solid team. I dont like to bet on the "due for a let down" thought process. I see a great team playing a crappy team and not only is there no chalk but i get plus money if the pads win. I can't pass it up. As stated before, I dont give a pitching edge to either team since they both got a good hurler on the mound today. So I ask you this, pitching aside, do you think the brewers are the better team?

its a 162 game season - of course the brewers arent the better team, but it just seems like a good spot for a letdown, and im a big letdown guy as most know.

i should have pounded oak last night with the cross country trip, and big series win over tex...i missed that play

Bailey pitched 6 innings against florida on aug 15 and only gave up 3 hits with no runs. I'm sure he'll get some run support from his team that shouldnt have too tough a time putting together some runs off of Monasterios who has a 6.43 era in his last 3 (14 innings total) and none of those picking up a win for himself. (lets try to forget that those games were against superior teams - one being san diego... OOPS!)

Anyways, I heard Carlos was out in Jersey last weekend hanging with some chick that calls herself, "Snooki", and word on the street is he has had trouble focusing on his pitching while waiting for the pending results from something he is calling, "the cotton swab on discomfort".

Cincy sound good now?
