Not to moderately forcefully disagree with you when only one game has been played, but this is extremely, extraordinarily funny. Well, actually I'm not sure how funny it is, but what I'm trying to say is, the Blue Jay lineup among the best in baseball? I don't see that.

Overbay is solid, but let's not go nuts about him. Wells and Rios are excellent, but nothing better than many teams' top 2 hitters.

Thomas and Stairs? Ok, they can be good, and may prove to be better than that. But they are still a pair of 40-year old power hitters.

And then the rest of the lineup is standard. They will be productive, but among the best in baseball? I don't quite see that. I see them as a bit above average at best.

            sorry man

u need to go to bed

the first thing that has to end is this day before u r gonna think thru this

if ur a pro like me then u figure it out in a few hours. I take the pain. But then remember I'm me and its not how many times u get knocked down but how many times u get back up. So then I go back to getting back on track. I use to have to sleep a night then have the promise of a new day start me from where i need to be mentally. now it just takes an hour or two after a big setback but its still tough.

Thank you DODIF. Hollins was mad because I told him yesterday that you can't only pick games based on ERA and batting averages. He has yet to let it drop.

Not true. The best pitcher always wins.

That's why Santana has been so profitable this season. Oh, wait a minute....

It's an insanely deep lineup. You just mentioned five players and didn't even include Troy Glaus, who while he strikes out a lot has as much raw power as anyone in baseball, Reed Johnson, who everyone forgets because he's missed most of the year, but is a guy who hit .320 with 34 doubles last year and is just entering his prime, or Aaron Hill, who is becoming as good a hitter as any second baseman not named Utley. Zaun is a below average hitting catcher, but he is a switch hitter.
I can see it being as high as 4th or as low as 7th, and it's as deep as any around, and I feel totally justified with statement that they are among the best.

Baseball games consist of a lot more than ERA stats and what you consider is a crappy hitting team.

sorry for your loss man but I wouldn't ever lay 10,000 on a twins/blue jays game unless halladay is pitching. Best thing to do is try to get at least half your money back in 1 game and start from there.

You make some decent points, true. Glaus, yes he is great. Hill is good, but nothing too unique. Compare him to the other 2Bs in the AL - Roberts, Cano, Castillo, Polanco, and many others. Reed Johnson had a great year in '06, yes, but he doesn't get any walks and he doesn't steal any bases, big negatives for a leadoff guy. He's in his 30s now, that one year may have been a bit of an anomaly. But if Stairs and Thomas can maintain their productivity, then yes that is a lineup loaded with power, you're right. we'll see if it gels though.

That was a jab? I was pointing out that you can't pick game on one pitcher's ERA and what "YOU" consider a crappy hitting team. That is truth; you just got mad because you threw a hissy fit when your team lost and I tried to inject some reason into your thought process.

anyone who titles their threads with "Guaranteed Winner!" deserves any flames that they get. How many 14-17 year olds are on this forum anyway?

Right, well ok, my final word on Toronto's lineup is that, as yet, they haven't demonstrated a lot of fluidity this year. Of course, they have a major and legitimate excuse with all their injury problems. But you aren't going to win a lot of games with no real table-setters and a bunch of aging and/or underachieving power hitters.

Still, if things come together for them, and they lead off with Johnson and Hill, and follow it with 5 big bats, yes they will score a whole lot of runs and win a lot of games, because they do also have decent pitching, and I will look to be on them as soon as it happens.

As for betting Minnesota huge in this game, I'm sorry but I see it as a pretty bad pick at that line. I had Toronto somewhat big, and the under quite a bit bigger, so I'm not saying I had a perfect read on the game. If anyone really did lose a lot on Minn in this one, sorry for your losses, but I do think it was a bad pick and bet.

More than likely after reading some of his posts he's 16 years old. Maybe 10 bucks at most on that game for him.

You had a better chance of BP giving you 10k then winning that pick. And you picked the under too? Boldin try 12, when I was 16 I made smarter picks than that in high school.
