Btw, where was the site at? I went to that link here but it didn't have any plays for the day. I'm not mad, I was just wondering if I missed out on the Philly play when I never knew there was a play for today.Comment -

#740Mr. superjeff24, what's happened in this forum today is a prime example of why a simple follow is not a reliable strategy. I've been hanging around SBR for 6 months or so and people disappear all the time... Riggs in the football forum, for ex, and TA here today. They're both probably gone forever.
There's no easy answer to your question. There are multiple sites devoted to our passion on this great big web, and you can find many simple or complicated methods to pursue while you develop your own. There are also a bunch of handicapper rating websites, some great, some not so great, which might lead you to someone whom you can pay for picks if you don't want to develop your own. I've seen reference to many "systems" for betting baseball, like biggest home favorite and biggest away dog, etc. Searching on those might lead you to places which stimulate your brain.
Best luck. Keep your bet size small and survive to bet again tomorrow.
Yes, I've read those systems. They seem a little too risky for me. From what I understand you're eventually betting huge amounts of units in order to win 1. I'd much rather risk a few units a day and not worry about having to risk 1000 to win 10 after 5 or 6 games lose in a row. That said, I have been tracking TA's picks and tweaking them based on what I think will happen. For example, the March 31 game Halladay against My Jays, I felt that the Jays would want to beat Halladay anytime they can. I took the game still, but put only 1 unit. My copy of Sharp Sports Betting just came in the mail today, so I'll be on the improvement trail shortly.Comment -

#762Guys just starting out capping MLB. I am a baseball fanatic so im good with the stats and all that good stuff Do you guys find it profitable betting spring training games? Just trying to learn as i go.
Personally, i think its probably not. Too many variables to predict like who is going to play and how long starters are gonna play. Like to hear opinions.Comment -

#764You don't have to follow the system to the letter. Take it and make it your own. Get yourself invested in it so that what it does makes sense to you. THere's no requirement that you chase, for example. You could simply bet the days biggest favorite or biggest dog, for example. See how that works out. Backtest it with historical data. There are tons of variations. You are limited by your imagination, not by other people.Comment -

Yes, I do. For exhibit "A", I present this year's 66-51-5 record that's hitting at 56.41% and +31.80 units with a few college games tossed in. I will say this, it takes a while to learn to do spring training games since there are more unknowns verses the regular season.Comment -
