Terry,

May I recommend the SF Giants as a play today? I got 2 units on them. Todd Wellemeyer goes for them today and he has been solid this spring. Also, I like Chris Carpenter of the Cardinals to come out strong today after a shaky start last game against the Mets.

Overall: 2 units on SF and 2 units on the Cards + your recommended plays for today's card.

up, it gets resolved and most times PDQ), the points program (mind
blowing concept that is second to none). Go visit each sports
forum and look for people who have seasonal (or monthly) threads -
read them, learn from what they're doing (or not doing). If you
see them making money, put a little something on the game a well.
If/when it hits, give them a thank you to let that person know
their time and effort was worth it. By the same token, if/when
their play loses - learn from it. See why it did not win (check
against other wins from the person). Try to remember, each sport
is a marathon, not a sprint, and their will be highs and lows
along the way.

The ugly. Far to many squabbles about some of the dumbest things
one could imagine. Yes, I was involved in a a few of them but
then something clicked and reminded me, that's not who I am, what
I'm about and not the person I want to be - so it ended. People
at times over react without knowing everything about a situation
which is equally as dumb. The open racism needs to be addressed
better - they finally removed the 'N' word from use and those who
believe in it, say "we're being realistic" - the sooner everyone
learns to get along better, and not just here, in the real world,
the better we'll all become on planet Earth.

Out of fear for not including anyone in a special thank you, I've
chosen to go another route. I'd like to thank my family and friends
for helping out with the various functions when I've asked relating
to this board. Speaking of which, those who helped mine for me
some M.L.B. data, please contact me with your favorite team as I
have something for you.

Thanks for reading this long post. I hope you've learned a few
things to enrich your lives. As you see, this was posted in the
Baseball Forum, not PT, since I want to be able to look back at
this thread in a few years, after retiring from doing this year
round, to see how things have changed. After all, if you really
wanted to know what a person is about, capping wise, find
their sports threads.

May we all be here next year doing better than we are right now.

So many things well said! You are indeed a legend here now, and you are recognized by more than just the new guys. It didn't take 10,000 posts for the ones who know you a bit better to realize this. You have been a model for me through some good and bad times, and it is hard for me to see who else has been as consistent and grounded as you are, and as I know you will remain. Yes, you are right; many people are after you and others with solid track records for spoon feeding I can see that. It is rough for me to see people learning the hard way as they say especially if they are here to make up for their job lost in a bad economy. It is good that you have made it clear that a bettor here in your thread should do 1 of two things: DO NOT cherrypick plays; play all or none OR learn here; make your own system and bets.

I got an email from a new guy once saying something along the lines of if you are so good then why did I lose my whole bankroll on your junk. At the same time I have gotten plenty of thank yous. It has become hard for me to deal with that; so now I have to think about disclaimers, and I am trying to go the more educational route when I say anything here. You deal with all of that day in and day out; so, respect my friend. I have learned from you, this thread, and the whole game that what you give you will get back so I am fine with sharing what I have learned.

I think that did that just to

It happens, the game is over, you can't change the outcome, move forward. Nobody wins them all nor losses them all. If you get that stressed about a spring training game, how will you be during the regular season? CO is playing well today and if they get the win, you would be down a little over a unit for the day.

Good eye on the Giants game - it was one of the four games that was not wagered on but capped. The other three were the Mets, the Yankees and Red Sox but since they won the night before, they became a pass for today - since this is spring training. Will be watching the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament games tonight with a rooting interest to be posted shortly once this thread is caught up. Thanks for sharing your insight and looking forward to future ones.

Gargamel thank you and no worries. Post questions, comments and/or thoughts and someone will respond to them. In this thread we work together as a team (together everyone accomplishes more). I will visit that forum and check out things out there and have no issues nor problems in saying soccer is not my cup of tea. I enjoy watching the World Cup and a few matches now and then and doubtI could list five players, if that many, in the world still playing.

3-1 so far in baseball thanks to Carpenter and the Cards being clutch. I wasn't really steamed about it bud, just laughing at one of my Marlins rivals incompetence against the bucs :P
