lee is something like 4-4 with a 5.04 era career vs nyy he won't be fooling them they have seen him many times, same goes for pedro thats why these lines are so high phils are way out matched here.

The AL had a bit of an "off" year in interleague play this year. They "only" went 137-114, which is the same winning percentage as an 88 win team.

Do you compare 88 win teams with 74 win teams and say "it's close"?

2. the AL East is tougher than the NL East and it's not close
3. the AL is tougher than the NL and it's not close
4. the 103 win Yankees are a better team than the 93 win Phillies and it's not close
5. the Yankees are home for this game

People who are not understanding the series and game one lines don't seem to realize points 1-4. This series is a relative mismatch. That's not to say the Phillies can't win. It's a seven game series, so anything can happen. I don't see value on the Phillies at these odds though.

The line for Game 1 looks right on to me. Wait until you see the line for Game 2!

Nothing about this is gonna be easy for the Yankees. Yes they should be favored but if you look at it honestly besides A-Rod who on the Yanks is really swinging a hot bat right now. Texiara at times looks lost right now. Other than the 10-1 blowout the Angels really hung in there and actually outplayed them at times. I think the Phillies are actually hitting better right now. I watched every inning of all the games so far and if was a pitcher what middle 4 of a lineup is more dangerous for me. Utley,Howard,Werth & Ibanez or Texiara, A-Rod, Matsui & Posada. I know how this sounds but if Philly gets anything from Rollins & Victorino the Yanks are in real trouble. Just my 2 cents worth.

This one is a tougher call than it looks. based on the yankees play of late it looks like this game would favor the yankees. but if anything ill call for a play on the phillies
here with a guy who won the AL Cy Young a year ago in C. Lee and although sabathia has been tough and yankees have the home field n they have yet to lose a game at home in the postseason, baseball is a dynamic game n theres a good chance
they lose their first one here. looking at the pitching matchups early in the series game 1 is critical for the phillies to grab because none of the other matchups favor the phillies. for a hot-hitting team like the phillies having the extra DH in the lineup could bolster their offense even more. being the defending WS champs i look for the phillies to open sum eyes with a close win here. Go with the Phils here n GL.
