Although I am not 100% sure Twins adhere to this, it is normally custom for next day's starting pitcher to travel ahead if new series starts next day. so Berrios should be rested enough and he is key to this play.

Berrios had a dominant start his last time out by striking out 12. Cubs though want to take the momentum from their win and 7run 7th inning against the Dodgers into today's home opening stretch. Montgomery actually pitched well lately but struggled in his last outing against a streaky Reds team by allowing 4 runs over 6inn. Montgomery though not a typical starter, converted from the bullpen after the Darvish injury. Cubs' bats could get hot again from here on but Berrios is a tough opponent to face, pitching edge on Minny but offense I think in favor of Cubies. Though game to call though have to say
Open line -115 Cubs, slightly drifted to -120 Cubs. I think the money should come in on Cubs when you consider Chicago's performance against the LAD and Minnesota playing extra innings (at least I expect the public to bet this way)

Twins huge pitching advantage makes them auto-play for me at any + odds. I have Twins FAVORED 52% (-108).

Shouldn't be much of a travel for the whole team since they've been in Chicago already playing White Sox .
Cubs on the other hand flying in from LA.

Let me rephrase then, Berrios was in hotel long before Twins game ended.

Just meant that Berrios should be rested anyhow, and the long travel could very well affect Cubbies.
Only worry is a worn out pen after yesterday's game and Berrios subpar numbers on the road.

Total is 9.5.. what is berrios gb:fb? Guess you consider wrigley neutralizing your pitcher if he’s extreme fb.

Yes he is flyball pitcher with groundball rate of only 39.8%, BUT that gets offset by 31.7% hard contact rate and 9.52 Ks per 9.

Fly ball pitcher today, wind blowing out to left at 14 MPH??? Always risky at Wrigley. Just my opinion.....
As long as most of it is not hard contact (true to his numbers), should be OK.

The bean counters are experimenting.... trying very hard to make sure you eat at the park.
Hence a lot of week day games are being played an hour earlier.
No time to go home after work, have dinner and head to the game.

First inning, Montgomery seems to have some control issues early on in 1st inn not a good sign. He usually is a groundball hitter, wind blows out at 12mph straight to center field, he better keep it low today otherwise Twins can cause some damage, they have 2-3 hitters in their line-up who that they can constantly hit for extra bases.

As long as the Twins are the team taking advantage, no complaints here.
