                            3. On the first day of the rematch between the two teams, as long as the team that was swept previously has an RPI value (http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/rpi) of no less than .015 than the opposing team, AND the opposing team is not a top-2 RPI team, make a bet for the team that was swept. (Note: The RPI will be explained in greater details in a later section of this manual)

The filters were made because those were the excuses JM made when a series lost. It basically helps us to reconsider our bet A amount or to skip the series.

Daniel, do you have an easy place to check and see when sweeps happen? I've just been googling 'MLB sweep news,' but I feel like there has to be a more efficient way.

Does this have a positive ROI? It's hard to figure when all that I see are records --- also the "official" vs "unofficial" is ripe for picking and choosing. I'm not making any accusations just wondering what people do or use, since there is obvious cost and benefit to conservative vs. more liberal risk scenarios, more vs. less action

Each win is considered a 1 unit bet. Official plays, V2, and V3 are the actual betting guidelines. Unofficial plays are mainly for those who want to have more plays, but unofficial plays usually have multiple losses throughout the year. The previous years' results are here:

Just so I'm clear, if at any time the team you are playing is a dog, you go +1.5, if favorite, you bet ML to win a unit. What would you do if you had a +1.5 game 1 play that lost at -200 and you were down 2 units? Would you come back TO WIN 3 regardless of price (+1.5 or ML on your team next game)? Let's say they are a dog again and the +1.5 is -150, would you risk 450 to win 300 because you are trying to win a unit ($100 in this example) in game 2 and "close" the series?

For all the people that are skeptics of such a system, the argument has to be that if once in a while the team in question will get swept again, and you'll lose your ass. So my question is (since this is just a hyper conservative (run line) martingale system) how frequently do you get blown up? In my example above, you are betting to win $100 (1 unit). If you go 0-3 there you'll lose between 1300-1800. I think I've seen guys on other internet posts say therefore that you have to close that number of series on average, win 18 before you lose 1 to break even or make money. Sound right? It's amusing when you look at the math that way.

So my question is (since this is just a hyper conservative (run line) martingale system) how frequently do you get blown up? In my example above, you are betting to win $100 (1 unit). If you go 0-3 there you'll lose between 1300-1800. Thats why I have built in a recoup on an official loss. There have been official losses over the past 10 yrs but because I figured out the avg number of wins per loss (which is excellent) ratio my recoup falls well within that.

Yes, it sounds about right, but if you look at the history of official bets in this system it typically goes something like 42-0 or 44-1. And 18 units on a loss is really a worst-case scenario type of loss, you're not very likely to lose that much in the event of one or even two losses in a season.

For unofficial bets you can choose to pass on the bet entirely, lower the amount you bet, or adjust your betting strategy to something you're more comfortable with. I've been betting run line on favorites and money line on underdogs for unofficial bets, and only betting the first two games of each series. I've taken two losses this season while playing the "official" way would leave you undefeated, but I've only lost 6 units (I flat bet one unit on the first game of the series and 2 units on the second), whereas I've won over 14 units from all the positive lines I enjoy with my 9-2 record.

I think that's fair, I admit that seemed to be a pretty bad case, and most (just from what I know about series prices and RL in baseball) wouldn't be that bad if swept again.

How many plays last year were "official"? How many are typical for an entire year? Thanks.

It would be a good play alone, sweeping a DH is always very tough, especially on the road, and without the same (de Grom) pitching advantage odds are Bravos take it home.
