I'd think the Red Sox +1.5 is the way to play that game, if not taking Angels. That line is high in this matchup for a reason. Is it all just based on perception?? Boston's record is 13-2 so its not like they're chumps. They won 4 in a row in convincing fashion. Xander Bogaerts out.Comment -
^ The reasoning, obviously correct, had a lot to do with Angels winning so much, but also with the hype. Boston +150 price or alternatively, an Angels team -170 or higher was just a bad value bet.
Quick recap and a few things, 3-4-1, and 1-1 run lines, -3.3 on all of those plays:
Painful 2 out solo bomb bottom of 9 for random Yankee to make it lose vs. push in the Mia/NYY under game. That after pretty much Yankees get blanked and Tanaka not with a average-bad but horrible outing + Yankees errors. In the 5th, 2 out none on gets to a 3 run homer by the catcher to make the game 7-0 or no way they get over. On the flip side, clutch hits and a 2 run Javy Baez HR pushed the Cubs/Cards game at 8 (my number, though some books were 7.5). Like the White Sox, Cubs are bad right now offensively, but they have no excuses really given that talent (no Rizzo?).
Also regarding Round Robins:
Even with a sort of bad record there and some really close losses, I end up the night ahead, which keeps me coming back to RRs. As a saver because the White Sox were the most tenuous (Gonzalez not solid yet), I took that over 8.5 and with +150 Red Sox and Nationals, Dodgers -1.5 if you can believe it, sent it big. The Cubs was another big play I had in a lot of RRs so if no push it would have likely been losing night. The thing crazy about RRs is that if you hit big plays/underdogs like the Red Sox last night with a few good pairings (is it luck? I don't know) the multiplier effect can be tremendous.

Everything else was close but eventually sunk, so I lost money on RRs, even with that top (15u!) play. Ha, it was over in the 3rd inning.
Usually the matchups analysis doesn't fail me, but it did in the Red Sox Angels game. The Red Sox are hot, no doubt, and I regret I played against them as heavy as I did. And I don't even love Skaggs either. So those are the breaks.
I might take off a few days, make my bookie pay me, and come back with a new, refreshed look at things. Good luck to allComment -
